Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Coffs Harbour, Cranbourne, Ipswich, Naracoorte, Canberra and Stony Creek.

COFFS HARBOUR: RACE 7 @ 5:05 PM

LATIN LYRIC (6) drops sharply in grade for this after running a plugging seventh over 1900m at Canterbury in Bm72 grade on December 8. Claim helps and expected to take plenty of holding out from the good gate. ROSE BETWEEN THORN (11) building a nice record and racing in career best form this time in. Back in trip when came from near last on the turn for a gritty nose victory over 1415m at this track on December 16. Progressive and has a good record here. MORE FOR US (5) broke his maiden status at start eight when a tough winner over 1600m at Tamworth on December 12. Has the ability to be competitive in this tougher assignment. VOLFONI (8) holding form well and due for a change of luck. Strong through the line when second over 1315m at this track on December 16. Claim helps again and has solid each way claims.
SELECTIONS: Latin Lyric to win.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 6 @ 8:35 PM

MASTERFUL (3) started at $2.10 last time but could only manage fifth, beaten 4 lengths, at Caulfield over 1400m. Better than the last run and this looks easier. Should bounce back. LEGIONNAIRE (1) hit the frame two starts ago at Sandown-Lakeside but ran below par last time when seventh and beaten 3.5 lengths over 1400m at Caulfield after being prominent at the corner. Suited here. GREAT GUST (4) resumed over 1200m at this track last start and was too good for his rivals, scoring by a nose. Open to plenty of improvement and must be respected. TRIAL BY PRESS (10) wasn't far away at Moonee Valley latest and should go close in this.
SELECTIONS: Masterful to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 5 @ 2:59 PM

UNCOMMON VALOUR (2) was solid when midfield in a richer race over 1810m at Eagle Farm last time. Before that had recorded back-to-back seconds in this grade to follow a Sunshine Coast win. Better placed and deserves another chance. HAROLD THE GREAT (5) ran another strong race last time out over 2400m at Warwick Farm, finishing fourth and beaten 2.3 lengths. Looks well placed so expect a bold display. PREFER US (7) finished 1.8 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1835m at Eagle Farm after being in contention on the corner. Can be competitive. DIABLO BOLT (6) brings winning form so must be respected.
SELECTIONS: Uncommon Valour to win back in grade,

NARACOORTE: RACE 4 @ 2:25 PM

KAYSERI (3) went close to making to back-to-back wins last time at Strathalbyn, beaten a long neck after he did his best work in the closing stages. That followed a win at Mildura the start prior. Perfectly placed and is sure to play a major role. PEWTER (4) progressed nicely second up when lengthening nicely into the placings here. Is a track and trip specialist that is will take stopping third up. HAMSLETTE (1) improved second up at Bordertown when falling just shy of the frame. Will strip fitter and is in the mix. SUPREME THUNDER (6) next best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Kayseri to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 8 @ 4:49 PM

SECRET REVOLUTION (5) was very competitive in midweek company prior to the spell and looks to have returned in good order judging by his recent trial. Really well weighted in this event considering his recent form and the inside draw should see him get every chance. The one to beat. INCENTIVE (3) made it back-to-back wins for the new stable, holding on to win by 0.3L at Moruya last time out as a heavy favourite. Has the gate speed to cross from out wide and he's never missed the placings on a wet track previously. Will take plenty of catching out in front. SPARRING (2) has trialled impressively since his disappointing effort first-up at The Valley, but did pull up lame afterwards. Lightly raced but his best form would see him right in the thick of things. MAJOR TIME (1) is racing well this campaign and the 2kg claim comes in handy. Include from the good alley. KING GUTHO (7) can dip second-up but loves getting onto a wet track. Not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Secret Revolution is the one to beat.

STONY CREEK: RACE 8 @ 5:15 PM

WAITAPU (1) picked up nicely off a slow pace last start at Mornington over 1500 metres and did well to finish fifth after peaking on his run inside the distance. He will be cherry-ripe third up and slides back a grade. The two-kilo claim will reduce his top weight and he is the one to beat. BISHOP ROCK (4) has not had much luck with a couple of wide gates most recently and he can turn his form around from a better draw this time. Each-way claims with the right run in transit. QUEEN OF TAYRONA (3) was trapped off the track last time out and still battled on gamely to hold sixth place at Moe three weeks ago. She has drawn closer in this time and is capable of running into the money. PEPPINO (6) is also a player.
SELECTIONS: Waitapu to win.
