Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for January 29.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Armidale, Tuncurry and Warwick.
ARMIDALE: RACE 6 @ 5:00 PM
BLUE SKY MOON (7) has only put in one average run this prep and that was on a heavy track. Raced handy and wasn't beaten far last start over 1200m at Scone. Very fit and likes racing here so he looks the testing material. ENTERPRISE LEGEND (11) made it two wins on the trot when he easily took out a Class 1 non-tab race at Quirindi on Boxing Day. Stays at the same trip today so although up in grade he is a definite contender. REWARDING TRANCE (9) battled on evenly for fourth over 1007m at Taree recently when second-up from a spell. Placed 2/3 at this distance and should be just about peaking at this stage of the campaign. KING'S GOLD (1) disappointed at Coffs Harbour last Monday but faces a far easier assignment today. HIRAISHIN (3) next best after filling a minor placing at Glen Innes last time out.

IMAGE OF THE SUN (11) promising Autumn Sun filly who broke her maiden status at second race start when a soft winner over 1450m at Muswellbrook on January 15. This is no tougher and will keep improving as she steps up in trip. Looks too good for these. TWELFTH NIGHT (8) kept safe in betting when resumed with a plugging fourth over 1400m at Canberra on January 12. Has a handy second-up record and drops sharply in weight with the 3kg claim. Best figures should see her figure prominently. FLYING STEP (5) hard fit for this and drops back in trip after failing to see the distance out when eighth over 2000m at Canberra on January 12. Another who will benefit with the claim and go on earlier placings when assessing her chances. CARDSHARP (3) finally draws a gate today after having no luck at his last five runs. In leading yard and gives every indication of running a strong mile.

WARWICK: RACE 2 @ 1:38 PM
BREAKING GROUND (5) has been freshened up since a disappointing sixth over 1400m at Beaudesert a month ago. That followed a brave win first-up at the Sunshine Coast, also over seven furlongs. Perfectly drawn and can bounce back. WOWIT'S WILLYWONKA (4) took on a rich race at the Gold Coast last time out and was outclassed. Finished just behind the placegetters in successive 1350m races at Doomben in December which are strong form references. Can put the record straight. PREPOTENT (2) has jeopardised his chances with poor starts at his last two outings. Finished just a long neck behind Wowit's Willywonka over 1300m at Toowoomba three runs back so on that run he is a definite threat. REACHOVER (7) strips fitter and is an each-way hope.
