Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for February 02.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Bathurst, Taree, Moonee Valley, Werribee, Sunshine Coast, Bowen and Strathalbyn.
CANTERBURY: RACE 3 @ 7:00 PM
AMOREAUX (6) three weeks between runs when back in trip for an even third over 1000m at Randwick Kensington on January 17. Strips fitter now and drawn to stalk the speed from the good gate. MIDNIGHT HARRY (3) seven-start maiden with his hoof on the till. Deserves his shot in town after running a gritty second over 1100m at Gosford on January 12. Gets the right run and has a fitness edge over most of these. PEACEFUL PRINCE (5) drifted in betting on debut when a fighting second over 1000m at Kembla Grange on January 13. Strips much fitter now and returned good figures at latest. MARCHESI (2) promising Deep Field gelding resuming for second prep. Showed potential last time in and recent trial win over 900m at Rosehill was full of merit. Will need a good ride from the gate.

BATHURST: RACE 1 @ 1:30 PM
REINE OF NINE (9) is an honest filly returning for a second campaign. Last raced when in the money over this distance at Hawkesbury in August. Won a recent Rosehill so the early signs for this prep are promising. ROLLING MAGIC (5) has not appeared since finishing a long way back on debut over 1200m at Newcastle 16 weeks ago. Started at $3.50 that day so he probably has a lot more to offer. Worth another chance in this easier maiden. MISCAVOLINI (8) improved sharply last start at the second run back from a break, beaten narrowly at $1.80 over 950m at Cowra. Big chance out to this more suitable trip. First starter FLYIN' THE PIN (7) is by Deep Field and hails from the Hawkes stable. Placed in a recent Rosehill trial so she is worth keeping safe. Looks a race in four, with JUST WAI (1) the best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: This looks ideal for Reine Of Nine.
TAREE: RACE 8 @ 5:34 PM
SNITZAROO (4) was quickly back on track winning the CL1 at Muswellbrook. Won the Gosford Maiden two-back and has more to offer. Sydney-trained and the top rider stays aboard. ADAMDEEANT (1) just missed here last time and keeps a handy 2kg claim. He will push forward and can feature again. WELLOUTOFREACH (3) will give more third-up and the speedy galloper will use an inside gate. NOCI DI COCCO (5) should go a lot better following a freshen. RICHATTACK (12) won the 50 at Tuncurry as expected and draws well with a 2kg claim. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Going with Snitzaroo.
MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 3 @ 7:15 PM
CEREMONIOUS (5) has had two starts to date and looks ideally placed to break through. He was solid in 3rd behind the smart Acid Wash on debut at Cranbourne before just missing at Geelong over 1530m, beaten half a length. Draw isn't ideal but D Lane is onboard and he rates highly. REAL SHADY (7) was no match for a smart winner on debut at Sandown-Hillside but did well to hold down 2nd. Sure to improve from that and will be hard to hold out. BELLE INFERNO (10) has been to the races twice, good at Flemington on debut in a handy race before another sound effort at Sandown. Looks suited to the rise in trip. INEXESSIVE (6) should be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: Ceremonious to win.
WERRIBEE: RACE 3 @ 1:45 PM
HAMPTON PALACE (4) hails from a very handy family (full to 2xG2 winner and 2xG1 placed Revolutionary Miss) and showed sharp improvement when second at Benalla last time out. Looks to be improving with racing and can go one better against this lot. TURN UP THE MUSIC (8) will strip fitter second-up from the break and is drawn to get a gun run in transit from gate two. Looks a serious threat. PINNACLE ROCK (2) has been thereabouts in recent efforts and Lafferty stays in the saddle. One for the exotics players. CALLSIGN CHARLIE (9) placed over this journey when resuming and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Cannot be ignored. FERRIMO (3) has placed two from four overall and may earn some minor money.
SELECTIONS: Hampton Palace to shed the maiden tag.
BOWEN: RACE 5 @ 4:43 PM
OCEAN EMPEROR (4) placed at Rockhampton three times before recording the comfortable win this grade at Mackay heavily bet. Gets in well with the 2kg claim and can go right on with it. TYCOON BABY (5) has been racing well at Rockhampton without winning. Has a handy 2kg claim and the inside barrier and is suited. LE VIZIR (1) resumed with a solid effort at Townsville and showed enough at the back of the previous campaign to consider. TO LOVE SOMEBODY (2) has had three starts back and hasn't been far away. Can secure a soft run and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Ocean Emperor to win.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 7 @ 5:20 PM
DAWNBURST (5) is ticking along nicely this time in. Carries more weight with the drop in grade and 1/1 over the track and trip. Bold showing anticipated. PIVOTAL FORCE (2) dug deep to score here two back, before rattling home into the placings at Murray Bridge. Shoulders a terrific record at this venue but will just need some luck from the gate. MARVELOUS NIGHT (3) was a dominant winner here two back when leading pillar-to-post. Gave backers another bold sight last start at Gawler but run into a sharper one. Shoulders a handy record over this track and trip and warrants strong consideration. SUGGESTIVE MISS (14) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Backing Dawnburst to win.
