Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for February 03.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Caulfield, Eagle Farm, Morphettville Parks and Ascot.
ROSEHILL: RACE 3 @ 1:40 PM
TRAFFIC WARDEN (1) promising Street Boss colt sent to Victoria at second race start when a commanding winner over 1000m at Caulfield on December 16. Kept up to the mark with a recent Rosehill trial on January 25 and can win again despite giving them all weight. Go close. Group 3 placegetter PROST (8) caught the eye when getting home late on debut to finish third in the G3 Breeders' Plate at Randwick on September 30. Looks to have strengthened up with two slick trial wins under his belt. Expecting him to come out hard and take catching. FEARLESS (5) trapped wide on debut and had no luck when a gritty fourth over 1000m in the G3 Breeders' Plate at Randwick four-and-a-half months ago. Another who looks to have matured over the break judging by his two sound trial wins. KING OF ROSEAU (6) has fitness on his side but this looks tougher after finishing second over 1100m here on January 20. Will relish the drop in weight.

ROSEHILL: RACE 7 @ 4:00 PM
ITA (8) finds the right race set-up today fifth-up from the good gate. Drops sharply in weight here after catching the eye late when third over 1500m at this track on January 20. Looks great each way value. ESTADIO MESTALLA (6) improving with racing after running on late with the 61kg to secure second over 1400m at Randwick on January 27. Collett keeps the ride and this is his pet trip. SO RISQUE (3) Victorian gelding racing in a rich vein of form. Stalked the good early speed when a tenacious head winner over 1400m at Flemington in similar grade on January 20. The booking of Rawiller is a bonus. ROBUSTO (2) Group 3 placegetter in career best form. Stalked the good speed when a comfortable winner over 1400m here on January 20. Up 2.5kg in weight for this but not to be underestimated from the inside gate.

CAULFIELD: RACE 10 @ 5:40 PM
Handy race. WHO DARES (7) is up and running and can give the favourite a big race. He won well two back at Sandown and ran very well up in grade in the Listed Chester Manifold last time out at Flemington. Lane takes the ride and with even luck from the gate he can take this out. JIMMYSSTAR (13) will be all the rage. He's won 4/5 and both in Australia, winning a rich Class 3 at Cranbourne prior to a spell. Looks one that could end up in Group races, he's going to be short in betting. BRUNG KING (2) has won two in a row on heavy tracks. Different set up here but is going too well to ignore. TONNEOFGRIT (10) was a touch disappointing at Flemington last start but had been coming along well prior and could improve.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 4 @ 1:58 PM
MASCARET (6) chased well when she resumed two weeks ago over 1500m at Rosehill and was only beaten 1.7 lengths into fifth. Fitter and is suited up to a distance where she is proven. Beautifully placed and should prove tough to beat. FLEUR DU MONDE (12) has been solid in two runs since a Doomben win, last start fighting on for third over 1805m at this track. Anticipating another big run. CHAYSE 'N' ARTIE (1) is building a good record at this distance range having run on well to score here last time. KORUTO (2) was just a head behind Chayse 'N' Artie last start and won three of his previous four so must be respected along with TUHINGA (7) who comes into this off back-to-back wins.
SELECTIONS: Backing Mascaret off a nice return in Sydney.
MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 6 @ 4:02 PM
EL ROCKO (5) was doing his best work late when resuming at Moonee Valley and then wasn't far away last start at Flemington. Not that much tougher this time and gets weight relief. Expecting him to stalk the pace and have plenty offer when they sprint. Great chance to break a long run of outs. SANDY PRINCE (1) was far from his best last start at the Valley when sent out a firm public elect but did pull up with excuses. Comes in off a quick freshen and is more than capable of turning things around sharply. EXALTED DAME (8) is another that is racing in great order and demands to be included in the calculations. TURF DECISION (3) ran in the middle of the pack last start at Flemington. Is up in trip today, could threaten.
SELECTIONS: El Rocko is ready to win.
ASCOT: RACE 9 @ 4:21 PM
KIA ORA JEWEL (9) ran on strongly over 1500m at Pinjarra last start after a good effort in G3 company over this course and distance prior. Looks really well placed in this event on recent figures and has placed 2/3 at this track and trip. Ticks plenty of boxes and can get the job done. SPEAK TO ME (2) is on the quick back-up after bumping into a good one last week over this course and distance. Good figures produced there and although the wide draw is some concern, he has ran on strongly in the past. Racing well and rates a winning hope. FILTHY HABITS (8) Will appreciate the rise in trip after closing off well over shorter distances of late. Hit his straps when he got up over this distance last campaign and improvement is expected. ALASKAN (11) shed the maiden tag in a good effort last week and jumps in trip. Can be around the mark. QUEEN NARDI (12) appears a progressive staying filly aiming at bigger targets. Won't be far away.
