Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for February 24.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Caulfield, Doomben and Morphettville.

CAULFIELD: RACE 4 @ 1:55 PM

BRAVE MEAD (1) looks to have come back even better this time around, given a positive ride and winning the G3 Manfred Stakes at this track and distance in good fashion first up. The form out of that race looks good enough and even with the weight penalty he rates the one to beat. DON CORLEONE (3) resumes. His best is certainly good enough but he's enigmatic. The trial was good and he could show up. MAHARBA (2) atoned for a tough run first up last time in to beat Brave Mead at Moonee Valley second up. Must be a strong chance. LEGACIES (11) was excellent behind Veight first up over this trip last time in before two disappointing efforts. Could be some value fresh. PIVOT CITY (10) didn't have the best of runs when beaten at $1.50 first up. He has stakes level talent.

DOOMBEN: RACE 10 @ 5:50 PM

DAYTONA BAY (3) has returned in good shape this preparation. Opened with a fast-finishing second at Eagle Farm two back then scored by 1.1 lengths as public elect last time out over 1400m at Eagle Farm. Proven third up so should be near his peak. Can win again. SNEAK PREVIEW (4) is hard to knock having landed a hat trick with a narrow win last time over 1800m at Sunshine Coast. Down in the weights so he is expected to measure up again. THE ELANORA (10) worked home well for a close second at long odds at his latest appearance at this track over 1350m. Good signs last time and suited up in trip. SHOPPING ESPRIT (8) is close to a win off back-to-back placings.
SELECTIONS: Daytona Bay to back up the last-start win.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 7 @ 3:57 PM

Competitive edition of the Lord Reims Stakes. GRAND PROMENADE (3) is a talented type and has been thereabouts in his two runs back, behind handy Vic runners. Steps out to a winning trip third up and shouldn't have to spend a penny from the draw. Gets weight relief and will be in this right until the death. Leading player. THE MAP (11) returned with a bang here last start when romping home to take out the JRA Plate. Has more to offer second up and the rise in trip will be no hassle. Sure to be very competitive. UNUSUAL PEARL (14) has put together two stylish wins in as many runs back in Victoria. Needs to go up a rung or two this time but appears to be capable of doing so. Fellow last-start winner YELLOWBRICK ROAD (4) also holds claims and is worth considering.
