Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for March 30.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Flemington, Oakbank and Ascot.
ROSEHILL: RACE 4 @ 2:15 PM
WYMARK (3) confirmed his recent improvement by making it a hat-trick of wins here a fortnight ago in BM78 grade when scoring by well over 2 lengths. This contest will be no walk in the park and is his toughest test to date but he has a touch of class about him and can get the job done again. KINTYRE (2) got going too late in the lead-up to this race over 1500 metres here a fortnight ago, flashing home into third. That is the second time in a row he has caught the eye and he gets his chance to settle a touch closer to the pace this time with the step up to a middle distance. He is a very progressive gelding who will carry on to better things this year. Can win with a positive jockey change to Jamie Kah. TEXAS FIREBALL (8) was a last-start winner at Eagle Farm 4 weeks ago and has come right at a good time. This is another step up but his trainer has a knack for peaking his charges at the right time. Go again. SALTCOATS (5) he is worth another chance with a step up in journey. Each way.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 7 @ 3:40 PM
ESTRIELLA (13) has simply come back a better filly this preparation, winning both starts well. She showed good adaptability to lead here last start and was soft late. If anything, back to 1100m looks a positive and she's got plenty of options from the draw. Keen on her again. HEDGED (6) won well here first-up. Didn't beat the strongest field but the pieces are there to suggest he'll measure up. I AM UNSTOPPABLE (2) was poor first up in the G1 Lightning. Much better suited here and we did see Cylinder win the Newmarket off a poor Lightning run. STRETAN ANGEL (3) is a good filly with form around the right types last preparation. Right in this. HANCHI (5) perhaps next best.

OAKBANK: RACE 2 @ 1:02 PM
LOVELY LOOKIN' (2) lived right up to market expectation first up with a dominant on-pace victory at HQ. No tougher this time and is unbeaten second up. Big chance to win again. GREAT MAXIMUS (4) is ready to make his return after enjoying a promising debut campaign. Just had the one start last time in and boy, didn't he make it count. Strips fitter for a Gawler trial placing in readiness and has Toeroek sticking. Sure to be competitive. SANTASTICO (1) is another that returns. Worked himself into some terrific form last campaign before coming to the end of his prep one run short. Has trialled well in the lead up and is among the main chances. THE STALKER (3) paid the punters first up off the back of a nice trial in. Carries more weight this time but shoulders his share of ability. Don't take lightly.

ASCOT: RACE 2 @ 1:04 PM
This race looks to revolve around ULTIMATE COMMAND (1). He led all the way and held on to win narrowly over 1200m here last time out and while he rises in weight, that effort rates clear of the rest of the field. Should find the front again from an inside alley and will take plenty of catching. NORICH (4) is some niggle at the trip but can't be discounted based on his last two starts, both over this course and distance. Shouldn't be far away from a handy draw today and can land the knockout punch. RUSSIAN SNIPER (2) looks more suited to this trip than some of his rivals, getting over the top at Albany last start to win by 0.3L. That was in much easier grade, but the booking of CJP from the inside alley is a big push for his chances. Key player. ENCHANTING SOUND (7) resumes today and boasts a nice first-up record. Parnham sticks from the trial and any market moves have to be respected. BUSTERS FREE (3) is in the mix first-up.
