Today’s Horse Racing Tips - 02nd April 2024

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 2.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Taree, Moree, Warwick and Geelong.

TAREE: RACE 1 @ 1:50 PM

VAN CHARLOTTE (11) has put together back-to-back narrow placings, the latest when a nose away in second at Coonamble. This looks easier and she's ready to get off the mark. CONSIDER IT READY (9) is close to breaking through, most recently putting in a solid chase into the placings at Kempsey. Open to further improvement and is drawn to get all the favours. Can shed the tag. Stablemate BELLASCENT (8) resumes and has had the benefit of two trials leading into this. From a sharp stable and is one of the leading chances. POWER OF HOPE (2) failed to live up to market expectation first up. Willing to forgive on best efforts and should be kept onside.
SELECTIONS: Van Charlotte the one to beat.

MOREE: RACE 4 @ 4:05 PM

GLORIEN (8) needed her fresh-up run at Armidale just over a fortnight ago and will improve quickly with a run under her belt. She has a handy draw and is capable of getting a slice of this. SWANBROOK GEM (11) is heading the right way and ran her best race yet when third at Armidale last start. A wide gate won't help her but she is still worth including in all combinations. PLATINUM WARRIOR (2) franked a recent trial win with a brave effort for second last time out when nearly leading all of the way. He again benefits from a 4-kilo claim and will be the one to peg back again. SUPER STORY (3) fair effort last start, beaten 3 lengths into fifth over 1300m at Scone. Won't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Glorien each-way.

WARWICK: RACE 5 @ 3:27 PM

FLANK SPEED (7) was a beaten favourite at Toowoomba last time out after having a very hard run when trapped 3-wide most of the way. If she can get a softer run in transit here, she can bounce back into the money immediately. AIN'T SHE LOVELY (6) followed up some handy trial form with a brave second at Chinchilla fresh up. She normally improves with racing and is good enough to take this out. AL PAL'S GAL (2) bad on fairly for fifth in a slightly tougher field last time out and was in good form before that. A wide draw is no help but she is still worth including in all combinations. MISHANI WARFARE (10) can play a role in the finish while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Flank Speed to win.

GEELONG: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM

LUV THE BOOL (4) is racing well this prep and did well jumping from the widest gate to finish a short neck second of eight last start as the favourite over 1800m after trying to lead all of the way. He drops 4kg in weight and rates well as one of the leading chances. RASPUTINA (11) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1454m at Kyneton, beaten 3 lengths. Fitter so a likely improver. BLOOMING EDGE (7) progressive gelding. Got off the mark last time with a 2.5 lengths victory over 1715m at this track. Include. MAKALU (10) found the line nicely to grab third last time out over 1715m at this track. Jason Maskiell has won when aboard in the past and gets the ride again. Should be involved in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Luv The Bool on top.
