Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Gosford, Pinjarra Scarpside, Townsville and Pakenham

GOSFORD: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM

DAGON (6) won his maiden when resuming at Newcastle two runs back then finished just half a length from the winner in a BM64 over 1000m at Wyong last start. Probably needs this trip now. Lightly raced three-year-old ready to take the next step. PAR FIVE (7) got back in the field and found 900m too sharp a fortnight ago at Newcastle. Better placed this time and can make amends. The consistent ZARU (4) returns after a five-month spell. Has registered an impressive five placings from eight first-up runs. Each-way hope. RAPIDO (2) is back from a six-month break as a gelding. Showed ability when last in work and a recent strong trial suggests he is up for this. LION CLASS (9) tried hard but just missed last time out over this distance at Grafton. Harder here but not out of the equation.
SELECTIONS: Dagon to win.

PINJARRA SCARPSIDE: RACE 1 @ 5:10 PM

CANDLELIGHT SHERIF (3) races forward and has been threatening. Just missed at Narrogin last time over 1900m as a short-priced favourite and will get every chance to make amends. SAMURAI WARRIOR (8) trialled well and had plenty of support on debut but was never in the hunt from a wide barrier. Has a low gate today and steps up immediately to a middle distance. In a top metro barn, and drawn low can't be ruled out. LIEN HYPHEN (10) peaks and has been around the mark over a mile. He has more to give and has to be given a chance. AGRABAH (5) was plain last time but was narrowly beaten at Ascot prior over 1800m. Has the blinkers first-time applied and expect a much better effort.
SELECTIONS: With Candlelight Sherif.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 7 @ 5:20 PM

AOLANI (10) switched from a Victorian barn and belted a Maiden field here first-up heavily bet. The money came again at Mackay following and she missed a whisker after a luckless run. Fitter with a handy 3kg claim and is likely to be on speed today. She's the one to beat. BOLD FEELING (1) is a former Victorian on resumption. He was an easy synthetic winner on debut and had excuses in Adelaide after. Has a low gate and keep very safe. MISS SHALAA (11) resumed in the same race beaten 1L. She much improved and maps for a soft run from an inside barrier. She's should be around the mark at a price. Ditto MAMA'S MAN (3) who is a leader and he won his Maiden here easily. Strips fitter and goes in at odds.
SELECTIONS: Backing Aolani.

PAKENHAM: RACE 6 @ 7:45 PM

KOOKY (7) is knocking on the door and looks the one to beat. She was good two back at Cranbourne over 1400m when beaten 2 lengths and improved again last time at Geelong, beaten a nose after making the pace. D Lane takes the ride now and out to 1600m, she should be winning. THAT'SWHATSHESAID (8) wasn't far away at Bairnsdale last start over this trip having run in a very strong maiden at Sandown prior. Should be running on late. ROCZEN (11) has been solid in two runs to date and can continue to improve. SERGEANT MAVERS (2) can improve second up.
SELECTIONS: Kooky to win.
