Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 13.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Bendigo, Doomben, Morphettville and Ascot.
RANDWICK: RACE 8 @ 3:55 PM
VIA SISTINA (8) made her Australian debut after a lengthy break when scoring an arrogant victory over 2000m in the G1 Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill on March 23. Goes just a well second-up and has an explosive turn of foot to finish over the top of these. The one to beat. PRIDE OF JENNI (7) is a tough on-pace mare yet to win in two attempts over the 2000m. Took control early from out wide at a good tempo before being nailed late by Cascadian over 2000m in the G1 Australian Cup at Flemington on March 30. Bates keeps the ride and will give them something to catch again fourth-up. PLACE DU CARROUSEL (10) loomed into the race strongly at first Australian start but no match for Via Sistina late when second in the G1 Ranvet on March 23. Further improved now and undefeated in both second-up runs. CEOLWULF (11) three-year-old colt who backs-up quickly after charging late when a narrow second in the G1 ATC Derby over 2400m last Saturday. Striving to be the first 3yo since Intergaze (1997) to win.

BENDIGO: RACE 8 @ 4:15 PM
ROLL ON HIGH (8) rates highly here. It's a slightly interesting setup, coming back to 1400m, but she's got a whole lot of class. First-up she closed well over this trip in the G1 Surround Stakes before an even effort in a small field at Moonee Valley. Looks very hard to hold out. SUNSHINEINMYPOCKET (1) has won all three starts to date and looks very promising. He profiles nicely and will be hard to hold out. MODOWN (10) atoned for a narrow defeat with a soft win last time. His last run at this trip behind Schwarz reads well. WOLFY (3) should appreciate this trip now and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Roll On High to win.
DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 2:48 PM
XTRAVAGANT STAR (7) wasn't disgraced in Group 3 company at Rosehill last time out and the form out of that race has since stacked up. Has three wins and a second from just four attempts at the trip and will strip fitter third-up from the break. Rates the testing material. MUSCHIALLI (5) is one from one over this course and distance and gets 1.5kg off with the claim. Can return to winning form here. JEMELDI (8) has been thereabouts in recent efforts and looks a genuine top-three candidate on best form. APOPHIS (12) has won four from seven overall and is drawn to get a soft run from gate four. Shapes as a key hope.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 7 @ 4:27 PM
VIVY AIR (5) was as unlucky as they come first up at Flemington, only getting out very late in the piece and flashing home to miss by a long neck. Got too far back last start in the G3 Alexandra Stakes at the Valley but had Mollynickers' measure and made good inroads late to grab a minor cheque. Cherry-ripe now and will take plenty of stopping. MOLLYNICKERS (4) was very disappointing when failing to run on in the Alexandra. Is much better than the last run suggests but will need a smart ride from a tricky gate. WINGS OF SONG (1) just keeps on winning. Has been given a quick freshen since going on her Tassie tear, keeping the legs ticking over with a pair of trials. Is another that has a wide alley to contest but her form is too good to ignore. QUICKSTER (3) made light work of them last start in the Clare Lindop Stakes. This is tougher but she deserves respect. MADISON KATE (12) was finishing fast behind Quickster when nabbing third. Draws better and is one for exotics.

ASCOT: RACE 3 @ 3:22 PM
REAL DANGER (2) may have been a little outclassed in the Rock Magic last time out but looks to have found her right race today. Good in the Pinjarra Classic and won the Cyril Flower before that. Drawn to sit just off her main rival and power over the top late. That main danger is BABY PARIS (1) who is a noted fresh performer, having won 3/5 first-up. She trialled like a bomb recently with the blinkers on and she now wears them on raceday. Her best is right up to winning this, she'll just have to be at her peak fresh. REAR ADMIRAL (4) is racing well having finished just 0.7L off the winner last time out. Can sit in behind the leading pair and if they carve each other up, CJP will be there to pounce. MEGAMI (5) might not be a bet today, but is worth watching for future endeavours.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Real Danger.
