The Mail returns to Melbourne and a rail true Caulfield - a perfect side dish to compliment the second day of The Championships up in Sydney.

With carnivals in Adelaide and Brisbane still on the horizon there are some promising horses engaged at Caulfield with bigger things on their agenda and perhaps the most promising on the card comes up in race two with the Darren Weir-trained Rockstar Rebel seen as a horse with plenty of blue sky in front of him.

He got too far back at Sandown last time but did enough late in the piece and was coming off a terrific first up run which said there was a big win in store this campaign. That was on the back of a promising spring prep which ended with an eye-catcher behind the smart Anaheim.

Those high-rating runs either side of a spell stand out in the form book on Saturday against a field that, while competitive, look very much in their grade.

We'll roll straight on into race three for an each way play. Toffee Nose heads the betting and fair enough off a strong performance last time but behind her with little luck at the Valley was Fragonard and she can prove over the odds around the $11.00 mark on Saturday.

We can expect to see them very positive aboard Fragonard with her winning form to this point coming when she has settled in the first couple in running. The map sets up for her to hold the lead from her good draw and from there she's got the ability to run well above her $11.00 quote.

This weekend there will be another Racing and Sports tournament giving entrants the chance to win through to the lucrative All Aged Stakes Day tournament held on April 15 with at least two tickets worth $110 up for grabs.

Entrants on Saturday will start with 50,000 Betta Bucks and the competition will be conducted in a Set and Forget format.
