The Vowels looks capable of challenging a hot favourite later on the program.

The Team Edmonds gelding was beaten for speed but ran on to finish midfield when resuming over 1200m at this track.

The step up in journey suits and he has won both of his second-up attempts so is a likely improver.

He has to take on Ekaterina who won well last start but she has come off her peak when third-up in past campaigns so could be vulnerable
