St Kilda defender Jimmy Webster has escaped suspension for the collision that concussed Fremantle forward Michael Frederick, but Brisbane's Eric Hipwood has received a one-match ban for rough conduct.

Frederick was flattened by an airborne Webster as the pair contested a mark in Fremantle's 17-point win over St Kilda.

Webster received a seven-match ban for a gruesome bump that knocked out North Melbourne skipper Jy Simpkin during the pre-season.

But the latest collision was a case of two players flying for the ball, with the match review officer deeming Webster had no case to answer.

Saints spearhead Max King also escaped punishment for his slinging tackle on Fremantle skipper Alex Pearce.

Brisbane forward Hipwood wasn't as lucky, receiving a one-week ban for his pin-the-arms tackle on Richmond's Nick Vlastuin.

Hipwood won a free kick for the tackle, but the MRO deemed it as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Vlastuin can escape with a $3750 fine for his retaliatory strike on Hipwood.

Adelaide's Matt Crouch and Collingwood's Lachlan Sullivan received fines for making careless contact with an umpire.

Sydney veteran Luke Parker is facing a lengthy suspension after unleashing an off-the-ball-hit in the VFL.

Parker, who has been unable to break into the Swans' senior side since recovering from injury several weeks ago, ran past the ball and elected to bump Frankston's Josh Smith.

Smith was sent to hospital with suspected serious facial injuries.
