David Noble says he has not sought any assurances over his position as North Melbourne coach amid a review of the AFL club's football operations.

North Melbourne coach David Noble insists he does not feel threatened by the review of the AFL club's football operations, being conducted by veteran administrator Geoff Walsh.

The Kangaroos (1-13) are languishing at the bottom of the ladder, having lost their last 12 games by an average margin of 59 points.

Club president Sonja Hood this week conceded the run of heavy defeats is "deeply concerning" and the source of growing frustration internally.

Noble acknowledges some change is likely from Walsh's review but told reporters on Wednesday he has not sought assurances over his own position beyond this season.

"I don't believe I need any, to be honest with you," Noble said.

"I'm really comfortable. I've got ongoing conversations with the board. I've spoken to Sonja and I meet with (chief executive) Ben (Amarfio) regularly.

"I'm not comfortable with where we're at from a footy team perspective, just to clear that up, but I've said all along we've got a clear direction we want to take.

"We understand that rebuilds are very difficult and you do have those periods where it ebbs and flows, and at the moment it's ebbing and not flowing very well.

"They're difficult periods so you just need to be united, stay together and stay to the plan."

Noble has a 5-1-30 record across his two seasons at the helm and said he was not caught off-guard when the review was announced this month.

"Being around for a while you understand that the circumstances of where we are brings with it additional interest," the 55-year-old said.

"So from that side of things it wasn't overly surprising.

"I certainly didn't feel threatened and welcomed the opportunity to continue to make us get better."

North Melbourne face a tough ask to snap their losing streak when they take on second-placed Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.
