Veteran Gold Coast forward Levi Casboult will push on for a 14th AFL season after earning an extension to play under new Suns coach Damien Hardwick.

The 33-year-old's career appeared to be at the crossroads when he was delisted by Carlton at the end of 2021.

But Casboult has been a handy acquisition for the Suns, kicking 59 goals across 41 games in the past two seasons.

A rookie draft selection in 2010, Casboult will likely bring up his 200th AFL appearance next year as he goes into the season on 195 games.

Casboult was one of six players the Suns confirmed on Monday as having re-signed, including VFL captain James Tsitas.

The hard luck story of Gold Coast's VFL premiership this year, Tsitas missed the grand final win over Werribee after being suspended for an incident in the Suns' preliminary final win.

The spotlight will be on Gold Coast next season after Hardwick's signing as coach, just months after he quit Richmond after more than 13 years in charge.

The triple Richmond premiership coach has high hopes for Gold Coast, who are still searching for their maiden AFL finals berth after entering the league in 2011.

The Suns finished 15th this year with a 9-14 record after sacking coach Stuart Dew in July.
