AFL star Luke Jackson enjoyed a strong first season at Fremantle, and he's keen to keep improving alongside fellow big Sean Darcy.

Fremantle star Luke Jackson has set his sights on kicking more goals next year, and he hopes fellow big Sean Darcy will stick around for the long term.

Jackson enjoyed a successful first season at the Dockers, booting a career-high 22 goals and also dominating in the ruck once Darcy went down with a serious ankle injury.

The Jackson-Darcy ruck combination looms as a key part of Fremantle's bid to break through for premiership success in the coming years.

Darcy's contract runs out at the end of next season, and he's been linked with a move to Geelong in the past.

But all signs are pointing towards Darcy signing an extension with Fremantle - something Jackson would love to see.

"He's probably one of our most important players, so yeah for sure (I want to see him stay)," Jackson said.

Jackson produced career-high averages in disposals (15), clearances (2.57) and marks (3.4) last season.

His return of 22.19 in front of goal was also handy, but the former Demon wants to boost that in 2024.

"I think I improved last season on the years before in the forward line," Jackson said.

"But I still want to keep working on that part of my game, and hopefully kick a few more goals next season.

"It was good getting to know the three roles last season - mid, forward and in the ruck. I learnt a lot.

"Doing that next season will be big for me playing those roles again. I just want to keep learning."

Jackson visited the headquarters of English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur during an off-season trip to Europe.

Tottenham are coached by Australian Ange Postecoglou, and Jackson enjoyed the experience.

"I just got a little tour around their stadium and got a feel for what it's like in the soccer world," Jackson said.

"It was good to meet some of their coaches."
