The set up for this final game of gathering round is a strange one in that Collingwood go from the first game of the Easter weekend to last one here.

And they finally got their season moving with such a defensive minded attack on the football, making life hard for the Brisbane Lions.

Apart from one quarter, the Lions didn't know what hit them. They were out tackled all game. You could see from the first contest when three Pies defenders were involved that it was game on.

Once that was the case, it spread like wildfire and everyone wanted to join the party. That might be how they resurrect things.

Added to that Nick Daicos was off a more defensive starting position with the field in front. He enjoyed that.

Hawthorn will then come off a short break on Easter Monday and fewer playing stocks.

They will pick up the odd win this year but it might be a long season. Just seeing some new faces will keep the fans enthused.

Historically this is not one to enjoy for Collingwood fans in the last decade. Naturally with the Hawks at the pointy end you see that. But even last year Hawthorn won easily.

Just don't see that occurring at the end. Collingwood saw their season begin last week and want it to continue.
