RICHMOND v ST KILDA

Another of the games away from the Adelaide Oval but one which very well could have been played there given the excitement they might deliver.

Richmond got their season away finally in beating the vaunted Swans while St Kilda lost a close one to the Bombers which they will not be happy about.

Credit to the Tigers. Sydney were not great but there were stages when you would have thought they'd put the hammer down and Richmond would not be able to handle it.

However even without some big names they stuck strongly and held on by 5 points.

In many ways it was the backs that were as critical as the rest, holding on when the run on began. Clearing out the forward line leaves the defenders exposed but Vlastuin and his mates did so well.

Now they face another fast side, in fact one that is faster. St Kilda will be peeved they couldn't get that happening as much in what was a bit more dour at Marvel.

They need it to be a lot of running to open up the opposing defences and whether that can occur as easily here is another thing.

If it does, they might just make life hard for the Tigers. Max King back is a key as that target in the goal square helps to spread the field.

The Saints actually have a nice record in competitive races with the Tigers. We'll go for them in a good match.
