At the start of the year, you could have pitted this game as a very important one but also one where you give Adelaide a chance to come to Melbourne and win.

Right now, you couldn't think the Crows could even arrive at Marvel in time leave alone win given how poorly they are playing.

That is not to say Carlton is running right on top of the ground. So far they have won by 1, 5 & 10 along with the North belting.

Many don't even think they deserve to have won the Fremantle game after the shenanigans at the end of the match.

But you invite those things to happen when you only kick 9 goals. Carlton knew that and held on long enough to hit the front then take advantage of the late penalty.

And they are still doing it without Cripps being the dominator and Walsh's involvement.

What can Adelaide do to turn this around though? They've looked so inept and lacking in spark through the midfield and even forward.

They were areas much of the punditry saw them to improve again at and lift them into finals. You can't see that occurring in 2024 unless a switch is quickly flicked.

Actually Adelaide has a very good record against the Blues of late. Even here they have done OK. But the last couple are losses and the confidence the Blues have should see them home again.

Charlie Curnow is due and likes playing Adelaide. Picking him for a few 'sausage rolls'.
