Brisbane has started the trek back up the table and Geelong is well and truly ensconced at its top.
You had to like the way the Lions demolished the Demons. The North win was expected, this one was not.
From gaining an early lead, they were never challenged. Most critically it was done away from the Gabba and even better at the MCG where they have a horrible recent history.
Even, even better it didn't need Lachie Neale to have 40 and dominate. It was Rayner, it was Dunkley, it was Berry. That helps them indisputably.
But they face one of the season's early markers with the Cats in a less hospitable environment.
They even did it without Hawkins this time. Jeremy Cameron had a day out and showed his class once again.
If Brisbane's defence are able to hold firm, they will ask so many questions of the Geelong backs at the other end. The Gabba is a much different beast to Kardinia Park in size and shape.
