Just when the Showdown gets prime time access, they are both not in vintage form.
Many have called for the Adelaide Derby to be on Free-To-Air all the time and now that it occurs, both are either stumbling around or packed with injuries.
Adelaide won by a fair bit but beating North at the moment is hardly anything to gloat about. One positive was they kicked 20 goals and shared it around but again – North.
For the Crows to win games, they need all of Rankine, Walker and others up front scoring because the midfield are not big hitters of the scoreboard.
But one thing is certain. They all give it a red hot go in every Showdown as we saw last year from Jordan Dawson.
Port has its own dramas. Not so much where they sit on the ladder but problems for players. A tricky hamstring for Rozee, knee for Powell-Pepper and concussion for Aliir really knock them around. Even if Rozee plays, it has to be a gamble.
Those highly touted mids of Butters, Wines, Drew and Horne-Francis will be earning their pay this weekend.
