It won't quite be the 2018 Grand Final, especially at the Docklands, but this game is better than it appeared even five weeks ago.
Both sides have lifted immeasurably from how they were tracking before Gather Round.
Collingwood had the old Premiership hangover going but have found plenty of excitement and done it without a few stars greatly impacting.
No De Goey or Mitchell last week in that ripper against the Blues and yet they still got over the line. It does help when Daicos does plenty.
All they required was enough ball in the middle and the small forward line got to work. A sturdy backline holds that up and means they don't need to score 15 goals each week.
Their opposition were shaping as a rabble but are on the improve. Sadly they won't have Yeo for a while as he was part of the revival.
Tim Kelly was magnificent getting to as many contests as he could. Then they are getting the returns from Waterman where things looked like no one would kick them this year. Now he's gone too.
