Record-setting Adam Scott will have the honour of playing alongside four-time champion Tiger Woods for the first two rounds of the PGA Championship.

Scott will be teeing it up at a 91st consecutive major championship at Valhalla, more than double Jordan Spieth's second-longest streak among active players.

Champion at Valhalla in 2000, Woods is playing the PGA Championship for only the second time since 2019, following years of back issues and then missing the cut in 2022 after needing ankle fusion surgery after his infamous LA car accident.

Woods and Scott, two of six players on the PGA Tour board as it continues its battle with LIV Golf, will be joined by former champion Keegan Bradley for the opening two rounds in Louisville, Kentucky.

The trio will be out at 8.04am on Thursday (10.04pm AEST) and 1.29pm Friday (3.29am Saturday AEST).

Five fellow Australians are in the field alongside Scott.

Cameron Smith has been grouped with Norway's Viktor Hovland and Japanese superstar Hideki Matsuyama.

Jason Day, the 2015 PGA winner and 2016 runner-up, will play the first two rounds with Irishman Shane Lowry and Danish ace Nicolai Hojgaard.

Min Woo Lee is out in the group after Day with US pair Chris Kirk and Billy Horschell.

Lucas Herbert, one of seven surprise LIV Golf invitees, has also been grouped with two Americans, Grayson Murray and club professional Larkin Gross, and will be the second trio to hit the fairways among the morning wave.

Cam Davis, who tied for fourth last year behind winner Brooks Koepka, world No.1 runner-up Scottie Scheffler and Hovland, will tee off with Talor Gooch and Harris English.
