Winger Kyle Feldt secured North Queensland's all-time NRL try-scoring record last week but against Parramatta he wants his team to fire the entire game.

North Queensland winger Kyle Feldt has the club record for most career tries in the bag and now he is ready to "get out the baseball bats" against Parramatta away.

The Eels have lost their last two NRL games and need a win at CommBank Stadium on Saturday to get back in touch with the top eight.

The Cowboys share the competition lead but have conceded 122 points in five matches and have switched off for periods in their games.

"(The Eels) are going to come out all guns blazing at (home) where they have a good record. We are going to have to go down there with our baseball bats and take them head-on," Feldt said.

"We've put together 60 (minute performances). We've got to figure out how to find 20 more minutes. That is what we have to work on and no doubt (coach) Todd (Payten) is tinkering with some things."

Last week Feldt took his career tally of tries for the Cowboys to 131 in the 35-22 win over the Gold Coast after an intercept, one more try than club legend Matty Bowen.

"It was a relief," he said.

"There has been a lot of hype about it through the whole club and community. It was a monkey off the back.

"In the moment I just caught the ball and ran and 10 metres out from the line I did the Matty Bowen one finger (in the air) salute.

"I am lucky to have his record and I intend to hold it for as long as I can. I know it is going to be a record that is hard to beat and I still have a few more games this year to add to it."

Bowen sent Feldt a text after the match to congratulate him.

Feldt has a history of scoring tries in big moments. His effort in the final seconds of normal time in the 17-16 golden point grand final win over Brisbane in the 2015 grand final stands out.

For his record-breaking try he swooped on a pass by AJ Brimson when the Titans trailed 28-22 and were on their way back into the game.

"I have been around the game long enough and I have an understanding of where to put myself in the defensive line," he said.

"At that time we were down to 12 men and we had done a fair bit of video on them coming out of yardage. I noticed that Brian Kelly was wider than usual and saw Brimson was about to hit him (with a pass)."

The veteran helped new 22-year-old Cowboys centre Tom Chester play a solid match after he replaced Zac Laybutt who suffered a season-ending knee injury the week before.

"Having such young kids there makes me feel young. As much as I can I want to try and teach them as much as I can," Feldt said.

"I was lucky to have Tatey (Brent Tate) on the inside of me when I was playing earlier on and he kept talking to me.

"I just want to try and mentor them for as long as I can."
