Newcastle vs Luton tips: Hat-trick hero Adebayo on the spot as Hatters test Magpies

Back-to-back wins on the road to Fulham and Aston Villa may have seen the Magpies turn a corner regarding their poor away form.

Those results will fill Eddie Howe's men with confidence but there's been little wrong with their home form so we're expecting a return to winning ways at St James' Park.

Nottingham Forest and Man City were able to exploit injuries and defensive inefficiencies to leave with three goals and three points in their back pockets recently.

However, Newcastle had won seven straight and eight of nine before that, shutting out all comers except for Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Luton Town are enjoying a real purple patch. They're unbeaten in seven of eight and have claimed crucial wins against Brighton, Newcastle and Sheffield United.

Their midweek win over Brighton saw us land our double chance tip but no one saw a 4-0 thrashing coming.

Still, Kenilworth Road is a tough place to visit, as Newcastle know from their 1-0 loss there, but St James' Park is a different animal and payback is also something to consider here.

Although Luton have pinched points off of relegation-threatened sides, they haven't troubled top-half teams on their travels and have received some beatings.

The Hatters have allowed 21 goals in 10 away matches with 11 of those being scored by four sides inside the top 10.

While it looks like a favourable fixture for the hosts, they are without their two main striking options and being without Nick Pope has also been detrimental.

Luton's main striking option is very much available and fresh off of a midweek hat-trick to take his tally to eight goals in 11 Premier League starts.

Team news

Joelinton, Nick Pope, Matt Targett, Elliot Anderson and Joseph Willock are ruled out due to injury while Sandro Tonali is suspended.

Harvey Barnes, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles and Alexander Isak are likely to miss out but all are progressing towards a return.

Visitors Luton will be without captain Tom Lockyer, Marvellous Nakamba and Mads Anderson while Jacob Brown is unlikely to feature.

Issa Kabore is unavailable having served his country at the African Cup of Nations.
