Race Synopsis:Backing up after a Group 2 third at Warwick Farm a week ago, Alassio takes her record to five wins (maiden stakes) in nine starts. She began well and speared along the fence to sit second when they settled. She gave the leader two lengths at the 800m and three lengths at the 600m but crept closer rounding into the straight ready to pounce. Taking over at the 200m she was challenged on her outside but refused to give in, knuckling down all the way to the line. Manicure was first away but had to settle back of the speed from wide out and sat third (one out) to the last corner. She went with the winner to claim the leader at the 200m and had a great tussle all the way to the line, fighting at every stride for a good second. I Am Excited turned in three wide in sixth and kept going the length of the straight for a solid third from Bella Martini, who from last at the 400m kept up a strong run wde out to flash into fourth in the last couple of strides.
