Big Orange will fly out to Australia for his Melbourne Cup bid on October 8.

Michael Bell's smart stayer, who has won the Princess of Wales's Stakes and the Goodwood Cup already this season, is aiming to become the first British-trained winner of the great race.

While Sir Michael Stoute has decided to run Snow Sky in the Caulfield Cup before the big one, Bell is quite happy to go straight for gold.

"He's in quarantine now, all is going well," said the Newmarket handler.

"He's not going to have a prep run, he's going to be running off the plane.

"He flies out on October 8 so he'll have plenty of time to acclimatise when he gets there."
