Darren Weir-trained mare Quilista followed her impressive win over 1200m at Flemington last Saturday with another very good effort, winning here at her Sydney debut. She was brilliantly away and soon set up a clear lead under Tommy Berry. He steadied her nearing the home turn, dashed her clear again at the 200m before the former WA-trained mare went on to score decisively. The in-form Sugar Bella had a good trip in fourth place after beginning well from barrier two. She briefly looked dangerous when she moved up on turning for home, got to second at the 200m and then battled gamely from that point for second, beaten just over a length. Kim Waugh-trained mare Hetty Heights raced in second last place in the 13-horse field, got between runners on turning for home, switched to the inner at the 100m and ran on to gain third in a photo in a sound first up effort. Kris Lees-trained mare Star Reflection raced in seventh place, made a wide move nearing the home turn, put in a good run to be in a challenging position at the 200m and then battled on well for (4.2 lengths) fourth.
