Kris Lees-trained mare Princess Posh continues to race consistently, now taking out her first Group success here, her seventh win in 21 starts to date. She settled in sixth place (on the rails) from her good barrier (4), before improving (between runners) rounding the home turn. She eased into clear running at the 200m and ran really well to score comfortably. It was also a good ride by Glyn Schofield. Godolphin-raced mare Savatiano, a good first-up winner of the Mona Lisa Stakes (Listed, 1350m) at Wyong on August 31, was caught deep from her difficult barrier (15), settled in sixth place (wide out). She improved (still wide) to be in a challenging position on straightening, hit front at the 200m and did well in battling gamely for second, her wide barrier proving costly. Irithea showed good early pace to lead, held the front until nearing the 200m and then held on to take the minor placing.
