WinStar Farm has released their 2023 16-strong stallion roster which is headed by Constitution (Tapit), who will stand for US$110,000, up from US$85,000 in 2022.

Retired to stud in 2016, Constitution was the leading first season sire in the USA / Canada by winners in 2019 and that first crop included the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes (9f) and Travers Stakes (10f) winner winner Tiz The Law. He has enjoyed another successful season on the track with his progeny while in the sales ring his yearlings have sold for up to US$1.8 million.

The Lexington farm adds two new stallions for 2023 in four-time Grade 1 winner Life Is Good (Into Mischief) and Nashville (Speightstown) who will stand for US$100,000 and US$15,000 respectively.

Life Is Good won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (8f) in 2022 and added the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup (9f), Grade 1 Whitney Stakes (9f) and the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes (9f) this year. The Todd Pletcher-trained colt heads to next month's Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic (9f) as a leading contender.

Nashville meanwhile will stand at WinStar Farm alongside his sire Speightstown (Gone West), who will stand for a fee of US$80,000, down slightly from US$90,000 last year. Nashville won his first three career starts in 2020 and set a six furlong course record at Keeneland on Breeders' Cup day that year.

"We are excited about our roster for 2023, and feel we offer a range of quality horses and value to all breeders," said Elliott Walden, president, CEO, and racing manager for WinStar Farm.

"We will also be offering a limited number of seasons to Life Is Good before the Breeders' Cup Classic."
