• CHAMPION Australian sire Lonhro enjoyed dual hemisphere success over the weekend.

The son of Octagonal sired his fourth northern hemisphere-bred winner when the Mark Johnston-trained 2YO filly Plagiarism (Lonhro x Journalist by Night Shift) scored on debut over five furlongs at Newcastle in the UK on Saturday.

The record of Lonhro's first northern-hemisphere two-year-olds in Europe now stands at four winners from five runners.

Lonhro, who shuttled to Kentucky for three seasons between 2012 and 2014, is also the sire of the fast improving filly Queen Of Kariba, who completed a a treble at Rosehill on Saturday after two impressive midweek wins at Canterbury.

Trained by John Sargent, Queen Of Kariba (Lonhro x Acupuncture, by Pins) is proving to be quite a bargain as she cost only $10,000 at the 2013 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale from the draft of Patinack Farm.

She is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Intencion (Commands) and three other winners.

KAPOUR, the imported winner of the Listed Winter Cup at Rosehill on Saturday, is the first Australian winer for his sire Toylsome.

The 5YO Kapour (Toylsome x Kitcat by Monsun) won three races in France including the Listed Prix Maurice Caillault at Saint-Cloud and was second in the G2 Prix Noailles at Longchamp as a 3YO. He is one of only two winners from the Listed winner Kitcat, a half sister to the G1 winning sire Konigstiger (Tiger Hill) and a sister to the Group winners Kalla and Karavel.

His third Gul Nook, by Mil Reef, is also the dam of leading sire Pentire (Be My Guest).

• HARD ACES, a 5YO son of Hard Spun, became the seventh G1 winner for the former Darley shuttler when he won the $500,000 Santa Anita Gold Cup over 12 furlongs on Saturday.

Golden Lad is out of the stakes winning Seeking The Gold mare Broadway Gold and is a half-brother to G2 winner Broadway's Alibi and stakes winner Gypsy Gold (Bernardini). He is Medaglia d’Oro’s 10th Graded or Group Stakes winner in 2015.

Medaglia d’Oro leads all North American stallions with 13 Northern Hemisphere black-type winners this year, including G1 winner Mshawish and G2 winner Gold Medal Dancer.

• SNITZEL’s classy Group winner Oakleigh Girl has been retired and will be served by Golden Slipper winner Sebring this spring.

A daughter of the Oakleigh Plate winner Miss Kournikova, Oakleigh Girl was a G3 winner on debut at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day in 2013.

She went on to run second to Unencumbered in the 2014 Magic Millions 2YO Classic and also won the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes at Doomben, earning more than $500,000 prize money during a career restricted to seven starts.

• THE Aga Khan’s late stallion Azamour, who shuttled to New Zealand for one season before he was put down in 2014 after suffering a serious injury, sired his 24th stakes winner when when the Hugo Palmer-trained 3YO filly Covert Love (Azamour x Wing Stealth by Hawk Wing) won the Listed Hoppings Stakes at Newcastle.

• AUSTRALIAN-bred Ready To Attack became the 144th stakes winner for his sire More Than Ready when he won the G3 Langerman at Kenilworth in South Africa on Saturday.
