Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maidens in the opener although all but one has raced at least once before. (11) THE PLAYER has a 3rd and a 2nd from two starts so far at 1000M and 1200M both times leading almost until the end. He draws a touch wider than ideal but should have enough about him early to get to the front, and it can be third time lucky here. It's clear what type of distance the Raon group believe (2) RAON THE SPRINTER will excel at. Indeed, he showed plenty of speed on debut when 3rd over 1000M. He should have come on for that run and from a good gate can challenge for the lead and be in this a long way. (4) JANGGUN GARAM has raced twice, improving at start number two when 2nd over 1000M. He ran through the line well both times and the slight step up in trip can suit. (10) SMART CAT and (8) WONDERFUL PAGO among other sin the hunt.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(1) STEALTH PARK may have run ordinarily on two of three occasions but sandwiched in the middle was a very solid 3rd place at this distance when he settled back and then ran on in a time quicker than any of the others here have achieved. He draws well, Moon Se-young stays up, and he could win this modest affair. (4) BULGEUN POKPUNG enters off a strong 2nd place at this distance when running on strongly. That was back in May so he has had almost three months off since, and coming in fresh, he can be a danger. (5) NAEGILUI CAPTAIN has, like Stealth Park, mixed his form so far with a 2nd and a 6th, both over 1200M. He can be expected to be on pace here and should go close. (9) HAENGBOK YEOWANG and (6) VET CAPTAIN other potential improvers.

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

Maiden fillies here. (6) WORLD FIRST CAT beat a couple of these with a front-running showing on debut on July 21st that ultimately ended in 3rd place. Like all here, she should have come on for that first experience and could well lead all the way here. (1) DAMOA debuted on June 23rd over 1000M, settling behind the speed before running on well for 4th. From the inside gate she can drop in behind the lead again and they extended trip can suit with Franco climbing aboard only to her benefit too. (9) WHITE FALCON has races twice already with a 3rd and a 4th to her name, the latter behind World First Cat. She has been doing her best work late so the step up in distance may well be to her benefit. (8) POCKET MILLION and (5) QUEEN AND SERVE others with the potential to improve.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(11) ZETTA MASTER is the pick here. He comes in having run 2nd over this distance on July 23rd when getting forward to sit handy from a wide gate, He draws a touch wider than ideal again but should have enough about him to get a forward position and third-up this preparation, he may be peaking fitness wise. (5) SAVANA CHARLIE is the maiden danger. He came home in 3rd place in that July 23rd race having settled back and run on well. Although yet to break the top-two, he has finished between 3rd and 5th on no fewer than eight occasions and he should be aiming to crack the quinella here. (7) ONE SPEAR has been slow away in his latest couple, but he does have a runner-up finish to his name as recently as July 1st and that's enough to p him in the placing mix in this company. (1) SAEROUN BITKKAL and (10) GREEN BULPAE others in the minor money hunt.

Selections (11) Zetta Master (5) Savana Charlie (7) One Spear (1) Saeroun Bitkkal

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

(10) YONG GUN gets the nod here. He enters off a career-to-date best of 2nd over 1300M on July 29th when racing on pace throughout. He comes up to 1400M for the first time but there is no reason why it can't suit, and he should be able to find a forward position again. (8) SUCCESS FLYING has raced just once, all the way back in January. He re-appeared, freshly gelded, in July and won a trial in a quick time, practically making all. He can be considered first-up here. (1) SHINE MONSTER enters off a runner-up finish over this distance on July 14th when coming from off the pace. She was well-beaten by a good winner, but a similar performance will see her in the money here. (11) TOO CUTE GIRL and (2) LUCKY BAND among others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (10) Yong Gun (8) Success Flying (1) Shine Monster (11) Too Cute Girl

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(3) PURPLE WORLD comes up in class having followed up a 2nd place on debut with a win over 1200M on July 1st when he made all and won by as many as he pleased. He also comes up in distance slightly, but the manner of that victory suggests there is more to come, and he can win again here. (5) GANGPUNGMA is similarly up in class following a maiden win at start number two over 1200M on July 22nd when coming from off the pace. The margin of victory was slightly less eye-catching than that of Purple World, but he did what he needed to do well enough, and he can measure up here. (1) CHEONGGYE GISANG finally draws a good gate for the first time in a long time. That should allow him to get a much easier run to the front than in recent starts and he can improve. (2) LADY TAEPUNG and (7) HAENGBOKAN MUNMAK among others to consider.

Selections (3) Purple World (5) Gangpungma (1) Cheonggye Gisang (2) Lady Taepung

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Competitive race. (9) BACKTOTHECHAMPION was a winner at 1200M two starts back before running 4th on his first try at this class on July 29th when slowly away and running on. That was just his 3rd start so he should still have some more improvement in him and so long as he doesn't get too far back this time, he can win. That will mean overturning the form on (4) BURNING PASSION, who was 3rd in that July 29th race when showing on pace throughout and finishing a neck in front of Backtothechampion. From a nice draw, she will surely be on-pace again and can be in this a long way. (2) STELL LUNA has plenty of experience at this level. She showed on pace at class and distance last time out on July 30th and from a good draw, can be competitive again here. (10) GEUMA UNO and (11) UNJU OREUM among others in the frame.

Selections (9) Backtothechampion (4) Burning Passion (2) Stell Luna (10) Geuma Uno

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(4) SOARA TO TO achieved her maiden win two starts back over this distance making all before running a very good 2nd from gate eleven on her first try at this class over 1300M on July 19th. She comes into a much better gate today, she only comes up 1kg in the weights, and she can win. (1) DAEBAK SOCKS raced for the first time since getting his maiden win at what for him was start number three all the way back on Christmas Eve last year. He has been gelded since then but certainly caught the eye when leading all the way in a trial in late June. He draws nicely and he can put in a bold first-up showing here. (8) PURPLE WINK comes up in class following a win over this distance on July 16th. The time wasn't fast, but he has proven himself able to finish off his races well and he can measure up here. (7) YESULIYA and (3) CATS EYE among others to keep safe.

(5) CAPTAIN COMMANDO is the one to beat here. After two ordinary outings around the turn of the year, he was out for five months, returning with a 2nd place over 1200M in June and then getting his maiden win on July 30th over 1300M, leading all the way around. He comes up in class and in distance here, but neither should be an issue and he is favoured to win again. (4) HAMA too comes up in class and in distance following a solid maiden win at 1400M on July 14th. A front-runner, she draws well to be on pace here and she can be a big danger. (2) FIGHT FAMILY has tackled 1800M for both of his attempts at this class so far and recorded a creditable 2nd place on July 21st when leading for much of the way. The mile can suit, and he should be in the mix here. (10) NAMDO ILDEUNG was a surprise winner at this class over 1300M on July 29th and warrants more respect here. (1) ROAD TO QUEEN another in the hunt.

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

A winner of two from four so far, (3) J MOTION enters having gone down to a very narrow 2nd when overcoming gate eleven at 1400M on what was his first try at this class on August 5th. He makes a swift return here, coming up in trip but into a much better gate, and he looks to be the one to beat. (1) SAEBYEOK BAND comes up in class following a 3rd place over 1700M on July 2nd when on pace but is down a full 6kg in the weights and comes into the plum gate one at the awkward mile start. He is the only one in the field to have won at this distance already, and he can put in a bold showing here. (8) HIDDEN BRAIN comes in following a fair 5th of eleven over 1400M on her first try at this class on July 15th. She stretches out to the mile for the first time, and it can suit. (6) GREEN POKJU and (7) SISEONJIPJUNG others in the minor money hunt.

(4) JANGSAN DEFI took a trip to Seoul for her latest outing in the Gyeonggi Governor's Cup, the final leg of the Triple Tiara, over 2000M on July 15th. She finished well back in that race but returns to more amenable company here and under a light weight, and from a good gate, she has as good a chance as any. (7) COOL RUNNING has a similar story in that he went to Seoul for the Minister's Cup, the final leg of the Triple Crown, also over 2000M, a week later. The result was similar, but the experience can have been beneficial and with a 2nd place at this class over 1600M to his name, he can be a danger here. That 1600M race was won by (11) INFINITY POWER, who then followed up with a close 4th on nine, again over a mile, on July 23rd. She shapes a s place chance here. (10) GASOK JEIL comes up in class having won well at this distance on July 21st. He comes down 4kg in the weights and can measure up here. (1) SPECIAL WIND another in the hunt.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) NAUI NARA shapes as a warm favourite here. He is two starts into a comeback following nine months out and has run 3rd and 2nd at this distance and at a mile. His style is to settle back and run on and while he carries his fair share of weight, he could have too much here. (11) FURIOSA had seemingly lost her way a little but showed signs of coming back into form with a 2nd place at class and distance on July 23rd when leading for much of the way. She draws wide here but under today's handicap conditions, she doesn't come up significantly in the weights, and she can go close again. (2) KING ACE comes in following back-to-back 4th places, most recently beating a couple of these over a mile on July 22nd. From a good draw he may be ridden further forward than usual today, and he can be a danger. (7) GEUM SEDA and (6) ROYAL HAMSEONG are others in at least the placing frame.

(4) SOUTHERN JOY comes in having won her latest two races, both at this distance in dine style with front-running efforts in good times. That brings her up rapidly in class here, but she is very nicely weighted, she draws well, and a hat-trick is a big possibility. (3) SPECIAL ROAD returned to action following four months out on July 30th and while she only managed 8th of eleven, the time was fast and the margins small. She draws better here, she should strip fitter for that run, and she can be a danger. (7) GRAPHENE KING doesn't have the benefit of an apprentice claim today, but she has proven herself capable at this class and in this company can be on pace and in this a long way. (11) MIRACLE ONE and (8) HAMPYEONG MAN among others in the minor money hunt.

Seoul Race 8: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

A very competitive race. (4) QUEENS TOUR comes in following 4th and 2nd places in Listed races over 1800M and 2000M. She hasn't raced since her runner-up finish to Tiz Barows in the Sports Chosun Trophy in early May but that means she comes in fresh here and it could be to her advantage. This is the kind of race she can win. (6) LUCKY WORLD never really got going over 2000M last time out, ultimately running 5th, but two starts back, he was a strong 2nd at this class and distance when settling back and running on. He remains nicely weighted here and can be a danger. (7) SURE WIN comes up in class following a runner up finish last time out over 1700M. She won at that distance at class 3 and under a very light weight, she can't be ruled out of measuring up. (11) YONGAM BOSS also comes up in class having beaten Sure Win in that race, which was on July 16th, and he along with (1) LOOKING GOOD shape as other leading contenders.

Selections (4) Queens Tour (6) Lucky World (7) Sure Win (11) Yongam Boss

Busan Race 7: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(5) CARPE BABEL got rapidly promoted to this level with back-to-back wins over 1200M in February and April and then ran 4th, again at the 1200M and again having led for most of the way around, on her first try at this level on June 30th in a quick race. She draws well, remains lightly weighted, and she can win this time on what will be her first attempt at 1400M. That will mean overturning the form on (11) CHOEGANG SSONSAL, who won that June 30th race having overcome the same wide draw to sit back and then prove too strong in the run. He comes up a full 3.5kg in the weights but warrants respect.  (2) SANGSEUNG BOY comes up in class after a strong win over this trip on June 23rd when making all. He has already run some class 2 times at this distance and has solid chances. (9) HWARANG BEST and (8) ILBEONJI others in the hunt.

(7) YEONGWON FIGHTER is a winner of two from three so far and finished runner-up in the other. All have been at this distance including his latest on June 3rd when he led all the way to win comfortably in a good time. He comes up in class here but looks to have potential for more, and he is very much the one to beat. (2) NAOL YEONGUNG returns to action for the first time since March when he was 2nd at class ad distance. He didn't offer too many clues when trialling up on August 4th but likewise he didn't expend too much effort either and from a good draw, he can go well first-up here. (4) TOHO SKY will need a line drawn through his latest couple, but he comes back down in trip today and can be competitive. (6) HANGANG BOSS and (8) SEMYEONG NARAE others in the frame.

(4) GEUMBITMA come sin off back-to-back wins at class 4 level, both over 1300M and both times having settled back and come from off the pace. His only previous try at 1400M didn't go well when he led and then weakened but he looks ready for another crack under a light weight and the class rise shouldn't be a problem. (3) STARLET was a winner at class 4 level over 1200M two starts back before running a fair 3rd on her first try at this class on July 16th when stepped up to 1700M and leading. She has run well at 1400M before, and she gets a nice draw here. (5) FLYING GOLD can mix his form but his last start class and distance 2nd place was good, and he is also a class and distance winner. He carries his fair share of weight but shouldn't be dismissed. (6) MAGIC HOUR and (1) NEW MOON WARRIOR others in the placing frame.
