Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

RAON FIRST
RAON FIRST  Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A weak maiden to start with. (7) GOLDEN BALL has picked up in her latest two, registering back-to-back 3rd place finishes over 1200M and 1300M, coming form off the pace both times. So long as she doesn't leave herself too much to do, she has as much chance as any here. (2) EXCELLENT TAN is the other logical winning chance. He enters off a much-improved 3rd place finish over this distance on February 3rd when settling midfield and running on well. He draws better today, and he also has the fastest time among these for the distance and will probably start as the betting favourite. (10) JEWELRY FASHION did nothing on January 28th but that was her first appearance since a solid 3rd on debut all the way back last May. She should strip fitter today. (5) SPALTA will at least be on pace and along with (1) SARYEONI FOR HONOR is a potential improver.

Selections (7) Golden Ball (2) Excellent Tan (10) Jewelry Fashion (5) Spalta

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden and (7) WONDERFUL PASS will be the hot favourite. After an ordinary debut, she has recorded two 4th places from her latest two, both at 1200M and in contrasting styles. In this company she should be on pace and stepping up to 1300M for the first time, she can win. (8) GANGCHEOL YEOGEOL is yet to finish in the top-two but has no fewer than eight top-five finishes from thirteen starts. She has shown some aptitude for this distance and should be aiming for a career best finish here. The form falls off significantly after those two. (2) FLYING LION was an improved 5th last time out at 1200M coming from well off the pace and a similar run should see her closer today. (5) CAPTAIN TIME and (10) SARYEONI NIKE others in the hunt.

Selections (7) Wonderful Pass (8) Gangcheol Yeogeol (2) Flying Lion (5) Captain Time

(5) SKY GRIT didn't do much on debut early last summer but returned in December and has finished 4th twice, both at this distance and both times racing on pace. Franco gets on today and she should be on pace again and looks like the one to beat. (10) OAK RIDGE looks to be on the right trajectory too, having beaten a couple of these last time out on February 2nd when 4th at this distance. He is drawn a touch wider than ideal but should be able to get across and sit handy and can go closer. (6) KWAEHAN YEONGUNG was 6th in that February 2nd race having led for part of the way. He had previously beaten Oak Ridge and with Seo Seung-un aboard today, will have plenty of backers. (8) BLACK FALCON and (11) DANCING BOY among others in the minor money frame.

Selections (5) Sky Grit (10) Oak Ridge (6) Kwaehan Yeongung (8) Black Falcon

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(5) MOMO K got his maiden win at start number three on December 23rd, making all over 1300M, before then running 4th on his first try at this level, again over 1300M, on January 27th, this time starting slow and settling back before running on. In this company, he should be on pace, and has every chance of going all the way again. (9) BELOTERO comes up in class following a maiden win over 1300M on February 3rd when settling handy and running on to score narrowly. That win had been coming and she is down in the weights here with every chance of measuring up. (1) ONE SPEAR is the only one in the field to have won at this distance already and while he can mix his form and carries his fair share of weight, he draws very nicely here and shouldn't be dismissed. (11) SHOOTING REVERSE and (3) JANGHEUNG CLASS are the other placing contenders.

Selections (5) Momo K (9) Belotero (1) One Spear (11) Shooting Reverse

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1600M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(1) AWESOME SUNRISE has been knocking at the door and comes in after a 3rd and a 4th from her latest two, both over 1400M. She is somewhat one-paced but that pace could well be enough here, and the additional furlong may suit her in shaking off the rest. (7) CLOUD LOVE is yet to finish in the top-three in seventeen attempts but that should really change here. He enters following back-to-back 4th places over a mile and will probably only need to run his usual race to get on the board here. (5) FUERTE ran 6th behind Cloud Love on January 26th having run 4th on debut a month earlier. There is plenty of scope for more development here and she can be considered. (8) HEUIMANG FLYING and (4) TOKYO K other potentials for the minors.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

One of the most competitive races of the day. (10) UJU JEONJAENG won at start number two last April and then didn't reappear until December when he finished down the field over 1200M. He stepped up to this distance on January 27th and ran a much-improved 2nd, coming from off the pace. Third up today, he should be peaking fitness-wise, and he can win. (7) HWASANGWIHWAN remains a maiden after eight attempts, but has four top-three finishes, including a 2nd and a 3rd at this class. He likes to run on pace, and he should be in this a long way. (2) AUSTIN LEADER comes in off a smart 4th place at class and distance on January 28th when coming from well off the pace. He carries less weight and comes into a better gate and can go close. (3) SEOUL CHOEGANGJA and (4) MANDAERO others in the frame.

Selections (10) Uju Jeonjaeng (7) Hwasangwihwan (2) Austin Leader (3) Seoul Choegangja

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(2) DRAGON FIRE comes up in class having won at start number two on January 28th when settling right back and coming from off the pace. He comes down in the weights, he draws well, and the additional half-furlong can suit. (1) FANTASTIC HUMOR is similarly up in class following a maiden win, in his case at start number three on January 21st when racing on pace and stopping the clock in a fast time over 1300M. He too is down in weight, draws well and can measure up at this level. (3) HOTFLEX is yet to win in eight attempts but has a runner-up finish on his record over this distance and can be a threat. (10) ANOTHER ONE and (9) ASTIN MARINE among other placing hopes.

Selections (2) Dragon Fire (1) Fantastic Humor (3) Hotflex (10) Another One

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

It's about time (5) K N TIZWON made the breakthrough. An eighteen-race maiden, he has no fewer than twelve top-four finishes, including 4th places in his latest two, both at this class and distance. He just tends to get a bit far back in his races, but if he can be within striking distance today, this is a field that he should pick off. If he manages to fin one too quick again, the prime candidate is (10) EFFEL TAP. He ran 3rd behind K N Tizwon at class and distance two starts back before beating a couple of these on his way to 2nd place on January 21st. The wide draw shouldn't pose too many problems and he is a real danger. (4) MADE STAR has finished behind both the favourites here in recent outings but should be there or thereabouts. (9) BUL HWASAN and (7) SARANG DAMOA are others to keep safe in wider numbers.

Selections (5) K N Tizwon (10) Effel Tap (4) Made Star (9) Bul Hwasan

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only here and plenty enter with recent form reading well, but (10) KOHINOOR shapes as the short favourite. Her win came at class 6 level over 1400M, but she has run well in two subsequent efforts at this class, running 4th at a mile and then 2nd at 1400M, both times beating a couple of today's rivals. The wide draw shouldn't be a problem and with Seo Seung-un climbing on, she can win. (8) LIGHT BROWN made all to get her maiden win two starts back before running 3rd on her first try at this class on February 4th when racing on pace. She can get to the front here too and be in this a long way. (4) GRAY QUEEN enters off a smart 2nd place on her first try at this level on January 26th and looks to have potential for more development. (11) VELOCIRAPTOR and (6) DONGNAM WINNER other contenders.

Selections (10) Kohinoor (8) Light Brown (4) Gray Queen (11) Velociraptor

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(7) BLACK BELT led every step of the way to win over this distance at class 5 level on February 4th. That was his second win in six starts and while he doesn't get much of weight break despite the class rise, he looks to have plenty of talent and can double up here. The main danger is (10) ARGO MUJEOK. He too is up in class, in his case having won over 1400M on February 3rd when making his way to the front from a wide draw. He does get a weight drop and while the draw is unkind for his first try at this distance, he should be close. Another one up in class is (4) PURGE KING. He won at 1400M on February 4th and gets 3kg drop in the weights. (11) MENI WONDERFUL and (2) VIKING HEART are others in the frame.

Selections (7) Black Belt (10) Argo Mujeok (4) Purge King (11) Meni Wonderful

Busan Race 5: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) ATLAS returned from almost six months out on February 2nd to record a dominant win over 1400M. She comes up a full 4.5kg in the weights, as well as coming back up to 1800M, a distance she only went fairly at when tried before, but she should strip even fitter for last month's win and Kim Hye-sun can map another path to victory here. (7) K K WON beat a couple of these when 4th at class and distance on February 4th. The veteran doesn't win out of turn, but he rarely runs a bad race and can be there or thereabouts again. (10) EUNSEONG WINNER was one of those behind K K Won last time out. She ran well in filly and mare group company last term and began the year with a class and distance 3rd. She can get close here. (8) DEMON SPY and (3) GOBLIN others in contention for the minors.

Selections (4) Atlas (7) K K Won (10) Eunseong Winner (8) Demon Spy

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(11) MIRACLE HANGANG enters having won his latest two over this distance, most recently at this class on February 4th when settling handy to the speed and proving too strong. He comes up slightly in trip as well as 3.5kg in weight, and he has the challenge of the widest gate, but he can be equal to all that and can complete a hat-trick here. (1) EUNHYE has been ordinary in his latest two, but he has placed at class and distance as recently as December and he comes into a great gate and has CC aboard. He may offer some interest at an each-way price. (7) GEUMA FIERY weakened over 1700M last time out but prior to that got back-to-back runner-up finishes over 1200M and 1400M and should come into play here. (8) TAEPYEONG FIGHTER and (5) UJUUI BOM are others to consider.

Busan Race 6: Class 1 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

Draw a line through the latest two outings of (6) GALAXY ROAD because they were the G1 President's Cup and G1 Grand Prix Stakes. Instead, we go on his 6th of sixteen in the G3 Owners' Cup over this distance and then a win at class 1 level over 2000M prior to that. Coming back into similarly amenable company here, he is the one to beat. (9) ALIVE STAR has won his latest three to finally make his class 1 bow here. He carries a very light weight and is in the form of his life so don't rule out him measuring up at the top level. (5) DOCTOR TAKE ran fairly for 6th of ten on his first try at this class on January 28th. He come sup slightly up in the weights but comes back in trip and he can be a danger late here. (8) GREAT BOSS and (3) DUNCAN are other possibles.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) GEOLJAK CHOEGANG remains a maiden after six attempts but has five top-five finishes and comes in off back-to-back runner-up finishes at this class, most recently at this distance on February 4th when coming from midfield. He gets a nice draw and today should finally be his day. (6) RAON THE MAN is a two-time winner and overcame expectations to run a solid 2nd place at this class over 1300M on January 20th. He comes up 2kg in the weights here but should be close again. (1) HAENGBOKAN SEUNGJA ran 4th in a Listed race for juvenile fillies to round out her two-year-old campaign, before kicking off this year with a class and distance 2nd, again in all filly company. Nicely drawn and weighted, she can have a big say. (7) KLIMT WORLD and (2) VICTORY HIT the other most likely placegetters.

Selections (4) Geoljak Choegang (6) Raon The Man (1) Haengbokan Seungja (7) Klimt World

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) SPEED ONE is a winner of two from four so far with one of the other two being an also-ran showing in listed juvenile company. He comes up in class here but is down in the weights and Moon Se-young remains on. From a good draw he can be on the pace and has every chance of prevailing again. (1) RAON THE COBRA has just the one win but is yet to finish any worse than 5th in eight attempts. He likes to race on pace and while he is up in class here, he is beautifully drawn and down a full 4kg in weight. (3) RIVER TAEYANG was a winner at this class over 1400M two starts back before running 3rd at this distance on February 4th. He carries his fair share of weight but warrants consideration. (6) ARA MOA and (10) TROT QUEEN among others in the placing hunt.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) E-DANAEUN was a winner at this distance in December before finishing 2nd on his first try at this level over a mile on January 27th. He continues under a light weight here, he draws well, and he has every chance. (2) GOOD HAPPY settled right back before coming from off the pace to run 4th on his first try at both this class and this distance on January 28th. He too remains very nicely weighted and looks to have potential to make further progress here. That may mean he can reverse the form on (10) WHITE CHARM, who ran 3rd in that January 28th race, having led for much of the way around. That continued a run of good form, and he can ne there or thereabouts again. (11) MOONHAK DREAM and (7) MUSTANG POWER among plenty of others with placing claims.

(1) EOSEOMAREULHAE  won his first three races in fine style to get rapidly promoted to this class, but he had a poor day at the office on his first try at class 2 on Christmas Day, leading early before going back through the field in the closing stages He has subsequently been back to trial, which he won, and coming in here after a further month off, is worth another chance. (10) CHOEGANG BLADE made all to score at class and distance on January 20th. He has the steadier of a full 5kg in additional weight, as well as the wide draw to contend with here, but he has plenty of experience at this level and can be close again. (8) THIS CHALLENGE was 3rd behind Choegang Blade in that January 20th race, demonstrating that he can be competitive at this level, and he shapes as a danger again. (2) SINUI ADEUL and (3) SUN DRAGON others in the minor money hunt.
