Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Fillies only in this maiden. (1) PINK WIND will be the warm favourite. She has made steady progress across four starts to date, culminating in a runner-up finish over 1200M on January 27th when settling midfield and running on. She draws nicely here, the slight raise in trip can suit, and she can win. The main danger is (4) JERAQUEEN. She too has raced four times with her best being a 3rd place in a similar race to this last October. She races for the first time since a front-running 4th at the end of December and should be on pace here and in the mix for a long way. (3) TAP DIA was an improved 2nd at start number two on February 4th. It wasn't a quick race but with some more natural improvement here, she can go close. (7) GEUMSEONG REVERE and (5) CLAIR GOLD among other placing chances.

Selections (1) Pink Wind (4) Jeraqueen (3) Tap Dia (7) Geumseong Revere

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Not the strongest of maidens. (1) MO CHUISLE is the only one of these to have a top-three finish on her resume, which she did at start number three last September. She then didn't race again until February 24th when she was on pace before weakening back through the field. She should strip fitter here and from the inside gate, must have a chance. (9) DANGCHAN NANGBO was a much-improved 4th at start number ten on March 3rd when settling midfield and finishing well. Moon Se-young climbing on today means she probably starts as the betting favourite. (7) BLUE RACER has recorded the fastest time among these for the distance and that's enough for him to go in the numbers. (3) STUNNING QUEEN and (5) BUGANGJILJU, the latter a well beaten favourite on debut who previously trialled well, others who could improve.

Selections (1) Mo Chuisle (9) Dangchan Nangbo (7) Blue Racer (3) Stunning Queen

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1600M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Franco Da Silva had a very solid book of rides – and plenty of winners – on Friday, and he continues here on probably hot-favourite (5) EUNSEONG CHAMPION. He has shown steady improvement across his six starts and most recently beat a couple of these on his way to 2nd place when stepped up to this trip on February 16th. He'll race on pace and won't need to be much better to win this. (6) LOLLY is the logical second choice. She was well back behind Eunseong Champion on that February 16th race but at the start before she ran 2nd over this distance so she warrants another chance. (2) AMZAING CURLIN beat a couple of these when an improved 4th at this distance on March 3rd and comes into a better gate in this small field. (3) SEOBU CAPTAIN and (7) BLUE POINT others who could dispute the minors.

Selections (5) Eunseong Champion (6) Lolly (2) Amazing Curlin (3) Seobu Captain

Seoul Race 3: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 75 Million

After running a fair 5th on debut, (1) DRAGON BULPAE beat four of these in a similar race to this over 1400M on February 25th when overcoming gate ten to get on pace. He draws much better here and will be a short price to come out on top this time. (5) SARANG WANGJA also overcame a wide draw in that race to come home strongly and finish in 4th. The followed a 3rd place on debut at this distance in a decent time and he shapes as the main danger here. (2) SOUL BEAT was 6th in the same race, showing on pace before dropping back and then running on. That was his debut having previously won a trial and he should have derived benefit from the experience. (4) DREAM RIDGE and (3) BONGHWA STAY, the latter a trial winner last month, are others to consider for the minors.

Busan Race 2: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Another short price favourite here and it's Franco again. This time he is on (8) MONSTER DRAGON, who was a winner on debut over 1200M in January before following up with a smart 3rd place when stepped up to this class and distance on February 16th when he was on pace and beat a couple of these in the process. The Shackleford colt can lead again and this time they may not get past. (1) SEOGWI CHUKJE is yet to win in twenty-two starts but she has no fewer than nine top-three finishes. That includes her latest at class and distance on February 23rd when coming from well off the pace. She will probably find at least one too quick here, but this is the kind of race she places in. (11) BIG WILD remains a maiden but comes up in class here following two 3rd places and a 2nd, the latter being at this distance on February 25th. He comes down 3kg in the weights and his times have been quick enough to be more than competitive at this level. (5) SKY JILJU and (4) CAPTAIN CHARLIE other sin the placing frame.

Selections (8) Monster Dragon (1) Seogwi Chukje (11) Big Wild (5) Sky Jilju

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(8) STUNNING SKY remains a maiden, but he has three runner-up finishes from his four starts so far, including his latest which came at this class over 1200M on February 4th, when handy throughout. He comes up 3kg in the weights, but he can settle behind the speed again and the additional half-furlong could be exactly what he needs to see him home on top. (5) CHEONGUCHAT similarly remains winless but comes up in class here following too many near-misses. They include a 2nd place at this latest start over this distance on February 24th and down in the weights here, he can measure up. (6) SUNGANUI CHANCE also comes up in class, in her case having won over this distance on February 18th. She carries a light weight and can be competitive. (7) SSING SSING SSING and (4) MEOTJIN GIROK are others to keep safe.

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(4) CHRYSOL SIERRA got his maiden win at start number four over a mile in January and then ran a fair 5th on his first try at this class and distance on February 23rd. He should have benefited from that experience and continuing under a light weight, looks the one to beat here with Tanaka climbing on. That will mean overturning the form on (11) QUEEN'S ROAD, who was also tackling two turns for the first time in that February 23rd race and came home an excellent 2nd. She overcame a wide ate that day too and only comes up slightly in the weights, so warrants more respect here. (1) SUCCESS FLYING also comes in under a light weight and may appreciate the step up in trip. (10) BOOMY STAR and (6) DOCTOR LEO other placing hopes.

Selections (4) Chrysol Sierra (11) Queen's Road (1) Success Flying (10) Boomy Star

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(1) GUKDAE FIGHTER will be a firm favourite here. He got his maiden win at start number two over 1300M on January 27th, before running 2nd on his first try at this class and distance on February 24th when overcoming a wide draw to race handy and then finish off well. He comes up 2kg in the weights but that's balanced by a much better gate, and he can go one better today. (5) PASALUBONG is up in class having won over 1300M on February 17th. He comes down in the weights and should be on pace here and can be competitive. (7) JARITHAN JAYU has already proven competitive at this level, with a 4th and a 2nd in two starts back since a ten-month layoff. Third-up this preparation he can be peaking fitness wise and should be a danger. (9) DAONDI and (2) GEOSEN CHAMP others in the hunt.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(5) CONCORD PARK was never a factor on his latest outing on February 23rd taking a bump at the start and then failing to respond to a strong pace. He was though a class and distance winner two starts back, so we will draw a line through that and give him another chance here. (6) WITH STAR enters off a 2nd and two 4th places from her latest three, all of them at this class and distance. She continues under a light weight here and should be there or thereabouts again. (4) FLYING THE LUCKY is up in class and in trip following a win at start number two over 1400M on February 2nd. He comes down in the weights and his racing style so far suggests that he may enjoy the extended trip. (10) CHEONSU SIDAE and (2) HI WINNER among plenty of others with placing chances in a wide-open race.

Selections (5) Concord Park (6) With Star (4) Flying The Lucky (10) Cheonsu Sidae

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(1) DONGJIN BULPAE is rapidly up in class having won his latest two in fine style, both over this distance and both times racing close to the pace before proving too strong. He comes down in the weights, he draws very nicely, and he will be expected to continue on his merry way today. (3) SMART TAEYANG is the main danger. He won back-to-back races over this distance at class 5 level in December and January before running a fair 4th over 1200M on his first try at this class on February 18th. He can sit behind the speed and challenge late here. (10) SPRING KKUM is very experienced and with a 4kg claim, this is the kind of race that he can pick up a cheque in. (11) AGAPANTHUS and (5) UNICORN HIT others in the placing frame.

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (2) SAMBA STEP won back-to-back races at class 5 over 1300M before getting a long way back on her first try at this class over 1400M on February 18th. She comes up to a mile for the first time, she draws well, and with Tanaka climbing on, she can win. (1) RUNNING WARRIOR has only won once in twenty attempts but she has a further eleven top-five finishes. That win came at 1800M last November and under a very light weight here, she can be a danger.  (7) GOLDEN STELLA will need a line drawn through her latest when abysmal over 1800M. She was later found to have been lame in both fore legs but has since successfully completed a trial in fine order and can be given another chance here. (6) BURUICHUKJE and (12) WONDERFUL APPEAL others who may challenge for the minors.

Selections (2) Samba Step (1) Running Warrior (7) Golden Stella (6) Buruichukje

Seoul Race 7: Class Open (2000M) Weight for Age / Herald Business Cup (KOR G3) / KRW 500 Million

Last year's Korean Derby winner (14) GLOBAL HIT makes his four-year-old debut as heavy favourite to pick up another Group race win. He rounded out last year with a thrilling 2nd to Winner's Man in the Grand Prix Stakes and his upper limit doesn't seem to have been reached yet. He has the challenge of a wide draw but that looks to be the only downside. (5) VICS GO enters off a standout performance when winning the Listed Segye Ilbo Trophy a month ago. He has won over this distance at class 1 level, and he seems to only be getting better. He should be an each-way price. (7) SPEED YOUNG is a stablemate of Global Hit and ran 2nd to him in the Minister's Cup and then 3rd in the President's Cup. He was beaten at class 1 level at Busan in January when heavy favourite but today will have been the goal and he can be a big threat. Among the old guard, (11) TUHONUI BANSEOK and the back from an unsuccessful Dubai stint (10) SIMJANGUI GODONG are among others in the frame.

Busan Race 6: Class 1 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

(6) DAEJI CHOICE comes in having run fairly for a midfield finish behind Vics Go in the Listed Segye Ilbo Trophy over this distance at Seoul last month. A four-time winner at this distance, including in some super times. He has a very strong finish on him and in this small field, he should be returning to winning ways. He can leave himself a bit much to do and if that proves to be the case again then (7) YEONGGWANGUILEGEND is the most likely to take advantage. He returns to action for the first time since finishing 3rd to Daeji Choice at class and distance last November, but he went through a trial at the end of February and looked very well. He is up in the weights but should be a danger. (1) CHOEGANG SSONSAL has the fastest time of any of these for the distance and a place can't be ruled out. Surprise last start winner (5) QUEEN OF THE WORLD, along with (8) WINNING DANCER are others in the minor money hunt.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(10) BLACK BELT is the one to beat here. A winner over 1700M at class 5 level two starts back in very fine fashion, he was a close 2nd when favourite at this class, again over 1700M on March 3rd. He copped a heavy bump and stumbled at the start, so to get within a nose was an excellent achievement and while he comes up 2kg today, if he gets a clean getaway, he will be tough to beat. The main danger is (3) ORAEDAHAMKKE. He too was a class 5 winner over 1700M two starts back before running 3rd on his first try at this class and distance on February 3rd. He remains nicely weighted, he draws well, and he is a chance. (9) COMPLETE LEADER is yet to win in ten attempts but has no fewer than eight top-three finishes. He remains under a very light weight and while one or two may be too quick once more, he can place again. (7) SUPER ECTON and (1) GOLDEN HONOR others to consider on a place line.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

This is wide open, so we'll take a shy at the stumps with (8) GEOLJAK DREAM. True his recent form doesn't read well but he has the fastest time for this distance by a significant margin and his actual performances haven't been bad. Harry Kasim may be just what he needs today. (11) PURGE DAY returns to action for the first time since May of last year. He was a winner of two of his last three before the layoff and while he offered few clues in a January trial, he has plenty of ability. (9) KING KALLE is yet to win in eight stats and does mix his form but going on his 2nd place two starts back at this level over 1200M and under a light weight, he can be a contender. (2) BAEKDU BOY and (1) THUNDER FLASH others who can potentially defy recent form.

(3) RAON THE HIGHMAN was a super on pace winner at this class over 1200M on February 3rd. He comes up to a trip at which he has won before and while he also has to contend with an additional 5kg, he draws nicely, and he will be favoured to go back-to-back here. (1) G MOTION comes back in trip having run 4th and 5th in two starts at this level at 1800M and a mile. He carries a light weight, draws very well, and he can be a danger. (2) HANGANG BOSS was a winner at class and distance two starts back and followed up with a 3rd place on February 17th. He likes to settle back and run on and while he carries his fair share of weight, he shouldn't be dismissed. (10) MY CENTER and (5) BAEDARI WANGJA are others to keep safe.

(3) HANGANGUI GISANG enters off a smart runner-up finish at this class over 1800M on February 18th when settling midfield and tunning on. He comes back to a trip at which he is one for one at and from a great draw, he should have too much for this lot. (1) COMPLETE TIME was a close 5th in a quick race at 1200M two starts back before weakening and running 6th having led over a mile last time out. He has placed at this class and distance and under a light weight and from a good gate, he should be in the mix here. (5) MAGIC GRACE enters off back-to-back runner-up finishes, most recently at this class and distance on February 3rd when settling just behind the speed and running on. In this company he can be on pace and in this a long way. (8) SKY MANGCHI and (4) TAURUS QUEEN are the other logical placing hopes.
