Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $22,000

Two standouts in this maiden and their form is almost identical. (4) BEST WHIZ has steadily improved across three starts so far, culminating in a 2nd place over this distance on January 7th when racing on pace. He comes in fresh after eleven weeks out and from a good draw, should be on the speed again and can win. (10) SPINNING BOOM has steadily improved across three starts so far, culminating in a 2nd place over this distance on February 3rd when racing handy throughout. The draw isn't ideal, but he has a strong finish and should be a big danger. (5) LOVE O MINE ran 3rd on debut in an all-filly maiden at this trip on January 27th, settling back but running on well. She should have derived benefit from that experience and can go well again. (3) BEAUTYWONDERFUL along with debut-maker (7) SONGDANGMANGCHI are others in the hunt.

Selections   (4) Best Whiz (10) Spinning Boom (5) Love O Mine (3) Beautywonderful

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (6 1/2f) Special Weight A / $22,000

It's hard to go past (1) RAON THE CLIPPER here. After an inauspicious debut last September, he didn't race again until January when, freshly gelded, he proceeded to post a 3rd and a 2nd, most recently on February 25th over this distance when racing on pace. He draws very well here and third-up this preparation, it should be his day. It isn't a strong set of opponents. (11) BEAUTIFUL HWASEONG is the only other one for whom a winning case can be made and that's based on his last start 4th over 6 1/2f when coming from well back. CC in the saddle is a plus. (2) MONEY TOUCH does have a 3rd place to his name and that is enough to get him into the numbers here. (7) SINUI BLUE and (9) HAKSAN DAESE other possibles for the minors.

Selections   (1) Raon The Clipper (11) Beautiful Hwaseong (2) Money Touch (7) Sinui Blue

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (6 1/2f) Special Weight A / $22,000

(12) BUSAN TODAY sounds like the title of a provincial newspaper, and she could make the headlines here. There was six months between her first start and her second start, that latter one coming on February 18th over 6f when she showed on pace before finishing in 4th. She should strip fitter here and can overcome the wide draw. The main danger is drawn only one gate inside. (11) YEONGGWANGUIFIRST was 2nd on debut over 5f last September and then followed up with a pair of 4th places, both over 6 1/2f. He doesn't need to lead so the draw shouldn't be a problem, and he has a strong finish. (5) DREAM TREE is the solitary debut-maker, and this is a nice race to start off in. She came from off the pace to run 5th in her trial in a fair time and the 6 1/2f may suit first up. (2) OAK RIDGE and (7) PUREUN YEOLJEONG other minor chances.

Selections   (12) Busan Today (11) Yeonggwanguifirst (5) Dream Tree (2) Oak Ridge
Next Best   7, 6
Fast Start   2, 6, 7, 12

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (7f) Special Weight A / $22,000

(5) THE GIANT comes in off a much-improved 2nd place at start number five over 6 1/2f when for the first time, he led, and only got narrowly taken down in the final strides. From a good draw, expect similar tactics today and while he is slightly up in trip, he can go one better. (4) BREEDO KING STAR is the main danger. He debuted fairly but without distinction last June and then didn't reappear again until February 24th. Newly gelded, he made a positive return, finishing 3rd over this trip and he should strip fitter here and it wouldn't be a surprise if he was sent off as the betting favourite. (8) TRES VITE is yet to finish in the top-three in eighteen starts but he has picked up plenty of minor money – seven times in 4th or 5th – and in this company, he can aim for a to-date best. (2) LONDON GOLD and (7) JECHUK ILHO are the other placing chances.

Selections   (5) The Giant (4) Breedo King Star (8) Tres Vite (2) London Gold
Next Best   7, 6
Fast Start   4, 5, 7, 10

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1M) Special Weight A / $22,000

(4) MORPHEUS will be a strong favourite here. He has mixed his form a little across his five outings but comes in off a strong 4th place over 7f when overcoming a wide draw to lead for much of the way. The step up to a mile can suit, he comes into a better gate, and he may take some beating. (1) NANGMAN DAERO too dealt well with a wide draw when 4th over this distance on February 23rd. He comes up 2kg in the weights, but that's balanced by the inside this time and he can go close. (7) UNJU LEGEND came from off the pace to run 3rd at a mile, also on February 23rd. She makes just her fourth start here and looks to have scope for more progress. (6) LUCKY HIT and (2) BABEL DREAMY are others in the placing hunt.

Selections   (4) Morpheus (1) Nangman Daero (7) Unju Legend (6) Lucky Hit
Next Best   2, 8
Fast Start   4, 5, 6, 9

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (7f) Handicap / $34,000

(11) GIANT M took a couple of goes to figure things out but he got his maiden win at the fourth time of asking over this distance on March 2nd when making all. He come sup in class here and has the challenge of the outside gate, but he looks to have more progress in him, and he has a chance here. (4) ACRO MARINE was a winner two starts back at 6 1/2f before running 2nd over that same trip on his first try at this level on February 24th. He comes up 2.5kg in the weights as well as coming up slightly in trip but he should be equal to both challenges. (1) STORM GUY will need a line drawn through his latest when favourite at class and distance on February 24th bit fading badly late. His previous form was good though and Moon Se-young stays loyal so we shall too. (5) HANGANG GLORY and (10) MUJANG among other placing hopes.

Selections   (11) Giant M (4) Acro Marine (1) Storm Guy (5) Hangang Glory
Next Best   10, 3
Fast Start   1, 3, 6, 9

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (7f) Handicap / $34,000

Fillies (and one mare) only here. (6) B.K. ZENA returned to form with a 2nd place at this class over 6f on February 2nd when settling back and running on strongly. She tackles, the 7f for the first time, it can suit, and she can win. (4) WONDERFUL CUTIE finally broke through at the sixteenth time of asking on February 16th when settling back and running on. She comes up 3.5kg in the weights today, but that is balanced somewhat by a much better draw, and lightning may well strike twice. (10) UNJU TWO HEARTS has led in both starts at this class so far before going back through the field. In this company she can lead again and be in things a little longer. (12) CHIMING RUN and (8) HERE THE QUEEN are both up in class following maiden wins and can measure up.

Selections   (6) B.K. Zena (4) Wonderful Cutie (10) Unju Two Hearts (12) Chiming Run
Next Best   8, 5
Fast Start   3, 6, 10, 12

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $34,000

Fillies (and one mare) only here. (1) WONDERFUL SPIRIT got her maiden win two starts back over 7f, coming from off the pace, before running 3rd in a similar race to this, again at the 7f although this time ridden further forward. She has got a quick finish on her and should prove too strong at the business end of the race. (2) LADY HANABI got her maiden win at start number three at 6f on February 17th, leading all the way and winning by as many as she pleased. She comes up in class and in distance here, but the manner of that win suggests there is more to come, and she shapes as the main danger. (4) HAPPY PLAY is yet to finish in the top two but has no fewer than nine 5th place finishes. She needs a line drawn through her latest but comes back in trip today and can finish 3rd again. (6) QUERER and (5) CHANIGO, the latter a long 2nd to Landy Hanabi last time and up in class, others to keep safe.

Selections   (1) Wonderful Spirit (2) Lady Hanabi (4) Happy Play (6) Querer
Next Best   5, 8
Fast Start   2, 4, 6, 8

Busan Race 4: Class 3 (6f) Handicap / $57,000

(11) FANTASTIC KINGDOM had a super juvenile campaign in 2022, winning four times in total, two of them at Listed level before his three-year-old campaign was ravaged by injury, his only appearance being back in the field in the KRA Cup Mile. He has been back in regular training since December and he has come through two trials, winning both in quick times. He can make a winning return here. (12) SAVAHA enters having won his latest two in good style over 6f and most recently at this class on February 16th. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights this time, but a repeat shouldn't be ruled out. (10) GREAT MISS will need a line drawn through her latest when weakening over 7f, but she has posted some super times when winning at this trip and warrants another chance today. (4) HWANGU DAEJANGGUN and (2) SPECIAL HERO others in the frame.

Selections   (11) Fantastic Kingdom (12) Savaha (10) Great Miss (4) Hwangu Daejanggun
Next Best   2, 3
Fast Start   1, 2, 8, 11

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1M) Handicap / $46,000

(2) MEGA DRAGON was a winner at class and distance on February 3rd, before having a go in the Sports Seoul Trophy – the capital's Classic trial – over 7f at the end of that month. He only beta a couple home that day but didn't run badly and returning to shallower waters can be followed here by returning to winning ways. (4) LUCKY PARTY has never finished worse than 4th in seven attempts, most recently at this class and distance on February 25th. He continues under a light weight and CC climbing up is a benefit. (8) LEGEND K has won two of his last three, most recently at class and distance on March 2nd when leading all the way. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights as a result, but his form can't be questioned. (6) NICE TAEYANG and (1) POWERFUL HWASEONG are others who can be considered.

Selections   (2) Mega Dragon (4) Lucky Party (8) Legend K (6) Nice Taeyang
Next Best   1, 7
Fast Start   1, 2, 4, 9

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1 1/8M) Handicap / $46,000

Competitive race. (8) MULTI HIT comes in off a win at this class and distance on January 26th when racing handy throughout and beating a couple of today's rivals. He comes up 3kg in the weights, but he warrants respect here. It's a similar story with (10) GOODY. He has won two of his last three, most recently at this class and distance on February 16th when settling midfield and steadily improving. He is up 3.5kg in the weights but, just like Multi Hit, looks firmly in this. (11) VERLUC ran 2nd behind Multi Hit in that January 26th race having led for much of the way. He then led again on February 23rd before ultimately coning home 4th, again at this class and distance. He is accustomed to wide gates and the weight swing brings him into play. Up in class (4) GEUMA HUGE HIT, along with (5) SOLEDAD, are others to consider.

Selections   (8) Multi Hit (10) Goody (11) Verluc (4) Geuma Huge Hit
Next Best   5, 6
Fast Start   4, 5, 8, 11

Seoul Race 7: Class Open (1 1/8M) Special Weight A / Dong Ilbo Trophy (Listed) / $223,000

The opening leg of the Queens' Tour Spring & Summer series although it is only at Listed level. Last year's Triple Tiara winner (5) JEULGEOUNYEOJEONG will start as the favourite. She had a tough 2023, racing a remarkable eleven times, but just when it looked as though she had been asked too much, she responded by rounding out the season with a win in the Breeders' Cup Queen at Busan. She comes in here off three months of well-earned rest, and she is the one to beat. (3) WONDERFUL SLEW has already beaten her. That came when she won the Gyeongnam Governor's Cup over 1 1/4M in Busan last October and while Jeulgeounyeojeong reversed that form in the Breeders' Cup Queen, Wonderful Slew is much more lightly raced and can still have room for improvement. She was only 3rd on her first try at regular class 1 level in February but today was surely more of a target. (6) RAON THE SPURT won last year's G2 Ttukseom Cup and was 3rd in the Breeders' Cup Queen to round out the year. She looked well trialling up alongside Eoma Eoma and The Gumpu last month and can be a danger. (1) GANGSEO GIANT and (7) SUCCESS TIME are the wildcards.

Selections   (5) Jeulgeounyeojeong (3) Wonderful Slew (6) Raon The Spurt (1) Gangseo Giant
Next Best   7, 8
Fast Start   2, 4, 5, 6

Busan Race 6: Class 2 (1 1/4M) Handicap / $70,000

(10) JEONGMUN COBIT has won three in a row to come rapidly up to this class with the lates of them being a comfortable score at class 3 level over 1 1/8M on February 18th. He enters class 2 for the first time as well as stepping up to 1 1/4M, but his running style suggests the additional furlong can if anything be to his benefit. He is down in the weights and while not many win four in a row, he can. Plenty of these raced one another over 1 1/8M on February 25th. (3) WIND WINNER ran 3rd in that race having shown close to the front throughout. He draws nicely to get on the speed again and should be in this a long way. (11) QUATTRO MAX did even better in that race, coming home in 2nd place. He has the challenge both of more weight and a wider gate, but another good run shouldn't be ruled out. (8) LUCAS SUN and (1) DOCTOR FAITH are others who should be close.

Selections   (10) Jeongmun Cobit (3) Wind Winner (11) Quattro Max (8) Lucas Sun
Next Best   1, 2
Fast Start   3, 4, 5, 7

Seoul Race 8: Class 5 (1 1/16M) Handicap / $34,000

(1) SMART CLAIR got his maiden win two starts back over 6 1/2f before stepping up to this class and distance on February 18th and beating a couple of these on his way to a very solid 3rd place. He scarcely comes up in the weights here, he draws well, and Moon Se-young gets on. (4) ENTROPY looked full of running las time out when relatively unfancied when coming home in 3rd place at 6 1/2f. Two turns may suit. (8) SEOBU TEUKSONG was a winner at start number two on January 6th over 6f before almost leading all the way on his first try at this level at 7f on February 17th. He also comes up to two turns for the first time, but he will be expected to be on the lead here and in this a long way. (10) CHOEGANG NICE and (7) LOVE MUNMAK other contenders in a race of plenty of chances.

Selections   (1) Smart Clair (4) Entropy (8) Seobu Teuksong (10) Choegang Nice
Next Best   7, 5
Fast Start   3, 4, 8, 9

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1 1/8M) Handicap / $46,000

(5) META BLADE has won just the once but has no fewer than ten top-five finishes from twelve starts. She comes in off a close 2nd place on February 3rd at this class and distance when handy throughout. She only comes up 1kg in the weights, she draws well, and she can win. (8) LUCKY POWER was a class and distance winner two starts back racing on pace, which he then followed up with 4th in a slow race on February 18th. He has his fair share of weight, but he should be in the mix here. (3) SAEPARANG is yet to win but comes in ff a smart runner-up finish over a mile on February 25th and won't need to improve much to be in this. (2) JAKDUGONG and (1) BEOLGYO TAEYANG others in with a chance.

Selections   (5) Meta Blade (8) Lucky Power (3) Saeparang (2) Jakdugong
Next Best   1, 9
Fast Start   1, 2, 5, 7

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (6f) Handicap / $19,000

(8) JANGSAN SPO comes in having won three on the spin with a gap of nine-months between the second and the third of them. That successful return was on February 24th at this class over 7f and while he comes up a full 5kg in the weights, he is down in trip and should strip fitter for that run last month. (7) BEST TORCH returns here from a lengthy spell of her own having last raced in August of last year. She was going well before the layoff and looked good when winning a February trial. She can pt in a bold showing first up. (10) SINUI EREUM and (11) MORNING DAOL both come up in class having run 1st and 2nd at this distance on February 18th. Neither are done any favours by the draw, but both come down in the weights and can be competitive. (4) APEX another in the hunt.

Selections   (8) Jangsan Spo (7) Best Torch (10) Sinui Ereum (11) Morning Daol
Next Best   4, 9
Fast Start   5, 7, 8, 9

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (7f) Handicap / $57,000

(8) MAUIWAY enters looking for a hat-trick of wins having scored twice at 7f at class 4 level in December and February. He comes up in  class here but sown in the weights and can continue on his merry way. (6) GIANT PUNCH is hugely talented but doesn't quite have the win record that he perhaps should. He returned in December following over five months out and has run 2nd twice, most recently at this class and distance on February 17th. Third-up he can be peaking fitness-wise, and it could be his day. (4) K N SKETCH returns here following six months off and looked very well when winning a trial on the last day of February. (3) FURIOSA and (9) SINHAN TEUKSONG others in the hunt.

Selections   (8) Mauiway (6) Giant Punch (4) K N Sketch (3) Furiosa
Next Best   9, 2
