Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Maidens in the opener with seven of the eleven racing for the first time. We'll take a chance on one of the first timers and (5) GOLD SIDAE. He took two attempts to qualify but did so in some style at the second time of asking, racing on pace and crossing the line 2nd in a decent time. He draws well to be on pace here and if he brings that form to the races, he can win. Of the experienced ones, (4) CANVASEN GO will be the best fancied and will probably start as favourite, having run a fair 5th of twelve on debut on February 18th. He should strip fitter for that run, he comes into a better gate, and he has solid claims. (11) HERO GOLD improved from 7th on debut to 5th at start number two and can continue to make progress here. (9) BEST MAYA and (1) CAPTAIN MUSIC are other debut-makers who warrant consideration first-up.

Selections (5) Gold Sidae (4) Canvasen Go (11) Hero Gold (9) Best Maya

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(3) SOLAIRE has four top-four finishes from five starts so far and comes in off the best of them, when runner-up over this distance on March 16th. She likes to settle back and run on and if she shows the same sort of late speed here, she should go past this lot comfortably. (1) ASSI JANGGUN enters off a 3rd place in a very slow race over this distance in February. She had previously shown more in the way of speed though when 2nd over 1200M three starts back and from the inside gate, shapes as the main danger here. (4) JURING SKY was an improved 4th at 1200M on March 9th and in the absence of much in the way of early speed in this race, may find herself much further forward today and can be in this a long way. (5) MK LEE and (9) DAEWONYONGMA others who may improve.

Selections (3) Solaire (1) Assi Janggun (4) Juring Sky (5) MK Lee

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Weak maiden. (2) MO CHUISLE has a 3rd and most recently a 4th place to her name across five starts so far, generally racing best when on pace. From a great draw today, she should get a comfortable run to the lead, and she can go all the way. The main danger is (4) YEJIMONG. Her best from fourteen starts so far is a 2nd but she has finished either 4th or 5th on no fewer than seven occasions, including her latest three, all at this distance. She is an unspectacular type but should be close to the pace and be there or thereabouts again today. (1) TESTA RUBY ran a much-improved 4th at this distance on March 9th and a similar run will see her in the finish again. (6) BAEKDU DAEMUL and (9) TOHOMARKET other minor money hopes.

Selections (2) Mo Chuisle (4) Yejimong (1) Testa Ruby (6) Baekdu Daemul

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1700M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(3) BLOOD MOUNTAIN will be a warm favourite. He has been getting closer in his seven starts so far, culminating in a 3rd place when stepped up to this distance for the first time on March 16th when racing against plenty of today's rivals. He should have benefited from the experience of racing around two turns and he comes into a much better gate today. He will need to overturn the form on (5) COSMO KING, who ran a very good 2nd place in that March 16th race having tarted at odds in excess of 60/1. That was by far his best finish to date, and he warrants more respect here. The rest don't inspire much confidence. (1) YONGBICHEON was 5th in that March 16th races and that's enough to make her the next best. (9) QUEEN ABIGAIL and (4) EVER THE CROWN are minor money hopes.

Selections (3) Blood Mountain (5) Cosmos King (1) Yongbicheon (9) Queen Abigail

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(2) SSEULMO remains a maiden after eleven attempts, but he has seven top-four finishes, including a last start 3rd at this class over 1300M on March 10th when he overcame gate ten to race handy and run on. He draws much better today and with similar tactics, he can make the breakthrough. That will mean overturning the form on (7) GREEN VIVACE, who was 2nd in that March 10th race, having led for much of the way around. She got her win at this distance, she should be on pace, and third-up this preparation, she can be peaking fitness wise. Plenty of others enter with recent form reading well, but the wild card is (8) BEAT UP. He hasn't raced since a 2nd place at class and distance just over a year ago, but he looked very well when going through a trial in March and he can go well first-up here. (3) GOLDBERG and (9) JAEWOO SIDAE are others to keep safe.

Selections (2) Sseulmo (7) Green Vivace (8) Beat Up (3) Goldberg

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) ENDING FIRE has five top-four finishes from six starts with his best being a very close 2nd n a quick race over 1300M two starts back. He draws well here, he should be on or close to the pace, and today can be his day. He will dispute favourite status wit (7) FAIR SKIES. He got back-to-back runner-up finishes in December and January, one of which was at this distance with both in vey good times. He could only manage 5th place when well supported at this class and distance on March 10th, but he had the excuse of the widest gate, and he can be a danger here. (10) ACE GUNJU beat Fair Skies when 2nd in that March 10th race, adding to the evidence of his previous 3rd place that he is finally figuring things out and he can be close again. (8) YONGBI BULPAE and (5) AMAZON KING are others in the placing frame.

Selections (2) Ending Fire (7) Fair Skies (10) Ace Gunju (8) Yongbi Bulpae

Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(7) K N TIZWON is the one to beat. True, he is a nineteen-race maiden, but he has no fewer than thirteen top-four finishes, including his latest on March 3rd when 3rd over this class and distance having come from well off the pace. That has been his weakness, in that he can get a long way back, but if Kim Yong-geun can keep him in striking distance in this small field, today really should be his day. If he manages to find one too quick yet again, it could be (8) MYEONGSEONG CHUKJE. He steps up to two turns for the first time having twice gone close at 1400M and he should be in the finish here. (2) BROWN GOLD comes up in class having got his maiden win at start number two on March 16th when on pace throughout. He comes down in the weights and can measure up. (3) SHARKTEN and (4) DONGHAENG FIRST are others in the hunt.

Selections (7) K N Tizwon (8) Myeongseong Chukje (2) Brown Gold (3) Sharkten

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) WONDERFUL PURGE enters off a smart 2nd place at class and distance on March 2nd when he overcame the awkward wides gate for this distance to settle back and then run on. He comes up 1.5kg in the weights, but that's balanced by a better draw, and he can go close today. (5) DALMAJI came home in 3rd place in that same race, having led for much of the way around. He draws well to be on pace again and he will surely be in this a long way. (2) LUCKY BOUNCE returns for the first time since running 2nd at class and distance back in January. He was in consistent form before the lay off and can put in a good run first up here. (7) MR QUALITY and (10) EUNBIT DOLPUNG are others in the placing frame.

Selections (4) Wonderful Purge (5) Dalmaji (2) Lucky Bounce (7) Mr Quality

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

It's been seventeen starts since (2) FUN CRAZY made his solitary appearance in the winner's circle but in recent outings he has been making his way back into form, culminating in a 3rd place over a mile on March 16th. He ran 4th on his only previous try at this distance and under a fair weight and with CC climbing aboard, today can be his day.  (1) TIZ ENERGY beat three of these on his way to 3rd place at this class and distance on March 10th. He remains nicely weighted, he draws well, and he will be a danger late on here. (3) KING DIA and (8) SAEROUN BITKKAL came home 2nd and 1st when they raced each other on March 9th at this class and distance. The former gets a weight swing and the better draw, but both can be competitive again. (6) MENI WONDERFUL needs a line drawn through his latest but is another in the hunt.

Selections (2) Fun Crazy (1) Tiz Energy (3) King Dia (8) Saeroun Bitkkal

Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) DREAM PLAY was a beaten favourite at this class over 1700M on March 9th when trying to come from off the pace but only making it up into 6th in what was a tight race. The small field here should suit, and he can be given another chance. (2) HWARANG TODAY returned from three months out to record a comfortable win over a mile at this class on March 16th. He comes up a full 5kg in the weights, but he draws nicely and can be in the mix again. (1) NAEGILUI QUEEN missed the second half of last year, but she is three starts into a comeback which has seen her improve at each step, most recently when 3rd at 1700M on March 3rd having led for most of the way. She will be on the speed again and in this a long way. (6) VIKING HEART and the up in class veteran (7) BUL HWASAN others who can go close.

Selections (4) Dream Play (2) Hwarang Today (1) Naegilui Queen (6) Viking Heart

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(3) HANGANG BOSS was a winner at this class and distance three starts back and followed up with a 3rd and a 4th in two subsequent appearances, both at this distance. He carries his fair share of weight here, but he draws well, and he can return to the winner's circle. (11) RIVER TAEYANG comes up in class after some good recent performances, including a win over this distance back in January. He has the challenge of the widest gate, but he comes down considerably in the weights, and he can be competitive. (6) TEUKGEUP DAERO will need a line drawn through her latest over 1800M, but she is one for one over this distance and can be a danger. (9) GOOD NISEN and (8) BAEDARI WANGJA are others in the frame.

Selections (3) Hangang Boss (11) River Taeyang (6) Teukgeup Daero (9) Good Nisen
