Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

(2) EUNPA PARTNER beat three of these on his way to 2nd place at this distance on March 31st when racing prominently throughout. That followed a 3rd place two starts back and suggests he is figuring things out. He draws very well in a race with not much early speed, and he should be on the front and in this a long way. (9) BLACK SPECTER will dispute favourite status. He debuted in that March 31st race coming home a very solid 3rd. He had been sent off as the favourite that day having won a trial, and he should have benefited from the run. (6) HIPPODROME was 4th on March 31st, marking an uptick in form. He'll come from off the pace again and can be a danger late on. (5) SEGWANG JILJU and (7) SCALE KING others who may improve.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only in this maiden and it's hard to go past (4) YONGBISU. She's shown steady improvement across her five starts so far, culminating in a 2nd place over 1400M on March 23rd when she led for much of the way around. In this company and having drawn well, she can lead again, and back at 1300M, she can go one better. Jockey Kim A-hyun rode out her apprentice claim last week, and she could go close here on (9) CRAZY SHAH. She enters off a close 2nd over 1200M on April 6th and the slight step up in trip may be to her liking. (2) THUNDER STORM and (8) B.K. BELLE both come in off last start 3rd place finishes and both can be in the hunt again. (5) HAMPYEONG FIGHTER another with at least a place chance.

Selections (4) Yongbisu (9) Crazy Shah (2) Thunder Storm (8) B.K. Belle

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(9) YONGAM SESANG will be a short-price favourite. He enters here having run 2nd and 3rd in his two prior starts although there was a full eight months between them. He comes in having not raced since January, but he won a trial in fine order two weeks ago and if that is any indication of his fitness level, then given the standard of this opposition, he will be hard to beat. (7) SPARKLING took several trials to qualify and then raced fairly on debut a month ago. He should have come on for the experience and can get closer today. (5) ARCH ROCKET has a lot more experience – not necessarily a good thing in a maiden – but she comes in off a fair 5th of eleven over 1200M last time out and in this company should be closer. (1) GEUMSEONG POWER and (6) DANGCHAN NANGBO other potential improvers.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

None of these have raced over this distance before. (2) STUNNING FLATTTER comes in having got his maiden win at the third time of asking over 1400M on March 23rd. It had been coming too after a 3rd and a 2nd from his first two outings and while he comes up in class here, he is down in the weights, draws nicely, and the step up to two turns should suit. (5) SPECIAL HILL got his maiden in two starts back over 1200M and was then slowly away on his first try at this level before running on for 5th over 1300M on April 6th. He tackles two turns for the first time and looks the main danger. (6) E.H. COCO is yet to win but comes up in class following a second runner-up finish over 1400M on April 6th when on pace throughout. An apprentice keeps his carried weight light enough to make him competitive. (4) MAGIC WITH YOU and (1) WONDERFUL WISHING others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only and (9) CAPTAIN TIME shapes as favourite. She got her maiden win at start number three over this distance in March before running 3rd on her first try at this level over 1400M on April 6th when showing on pace. She should be on the speed here and she can go all the way. (3) VELVETY is yet to win but enters off a good 2nd place at this class over 1200M on March 31st. She comes up 2kg in the weights but third-up this preparation can be peaking fitness wise. (7) VIVA CHEONGSU is similarly still a maiden having been promoted to this class with a pair of runner-up finishes from her first two appearances. She showed she can measure up in this company with a 4th place over 1400M in February and comes in here fresh after eleven weeks out. (1) HAYAN TAEYANG and (4) HEY MAMA have both won over this trip and are others to consider.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(4) SPALTA gets the nis here. It took him a few tries to figure things out, but he got his maiden win in effortless fashion on April 7th when leading all the way and winning by as many as he pleased over this distance. He comes up in class but is down in the weights and the manner of that win suggests there can be more to come. (6) GLOBAL CODIE is similarly up in class following a last start maiden win. In his case it came over 1300M and from the front. He too comes down in the weights and should be challenging Spalta for the lead right from the start here. Continuing the theme, (9) FINAL GO came from off the pace to make his breakthrough at 1200M on April 6th. He perhaps has a little more to find than the other two, but he can be competitive. (1) GLORY AND HONOR and (7) FLYING CARAVANE, the latter second-up after a five-month absence and should strip fitter, others to consider.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Small but competitive field. (5) HONOR ROSE enters having scored at this class over 1400M on March 9th having made all. She only comes up 1kg in the weights and she has won over this distance already as well. She will be on pace and can go back-to-back. (4) MUNHAK EAGLE is a two-time winner over this distance and enters off a solid 2nd place on March 31st when racing handy throughout. She too remains well in at the weights, Harry stays on, and she can be a big danger here. (8) WONPYEONG KILLAR doesn't win out of turn but rarely runs a bad race and comes back to this trip for the first time in a while with solid placing chances. (1) NEMO PRINCE and (6) YESULIYA others to consider.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(8) DRAGON KINGDOM is two for two having scored well over 1400M and 1200M in his opening two races. That brings him rapidly up to this class but the manner of that second win suggests that there is plenty more to come and he can continue on his merry way here. (5) LADY HANABI is similarly up in class having won her latest two, most recently over this distance on March 24th when leading every step of the way for the second time. She is lightly weighted, she draws very well, and she can be very dangerous again here. (3) ARA MOA has a win and three placings at this distance and enters having beaten a couple of today's rivals in both her two most recent outings. Third-up this preparation she can be peaking in terms of fitness, and she can go close here. (9) RAON THE COBRA and (6) PINE FARM among others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Another small but competitive field. (6) RAON THE MAN has finished no worse than 5th in eight starts and comes in with two runner-up finishes and a 3rd from his latest three, all at this class and most recently at this distance on March 30th when racing handy. He comes up 1.5kg in the weights, but he can go one better this time. That will mean overturning the form on (5) MIGHTY JJANG, who won that March 30th race, leading all the way around and crossing the line a length and a quarter to the good. He comes up 3.5kg in the weights so there is a swing in favour of Raon The Man, but a repeat shouldn't be ruled out. (4) WONPYEONG TOWN comes in off back-to-back 2nd places at this class and distance and warrants respect. (7) T.C FAMILY and (3) MIR POINT the other placing chances.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(5) OHRA KHAN won back-to-back races in January and February to be rapidly promoted to this class and then ran a very good 2nd on what was his first try at both this class and this distance on March 31st when handy throughout. He comes up 2kg in the weights, but should have come on for that experience, and he can go one better here. (2) A. P. PATEK can mix his form, but he is vastly experienced at this level, and this is the kind of race he can go close in. (8) SAEPARANG is up in class having scored over this distance on March 24th. He carries a light weight and can measure up in this company. (3) K N UNDERKING and (7) LUCKY POWER are others to consider for the places.

Selections (5) Ohra Khan (2) A. P. Patek (8) Saeparang (3) K N Underking

Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

Tricky race to finish with. (7) TEUKGEUP DAERO comes up in class having won over 1400M on April 13th when settling right back and running on. A previous go at a mile ended in 5th but he is lightly weighted here and has as good a chance as any. (6) MORNING HILL beat a couple of these on his way to victory at this class over 1400M on April 7th, racing close to the pace throughout. He comes up 3.5kg in the weights but can be considered for a repeat here. (9) DOKKI BULPAE is probably the class horse of the race even if recent efforts don't necessarily show it. Going on his 3rd place over 1800M two starts back in tougher company than this, he has to be a chance here. (5) MUNHAK BOSS and (1) COMPLETE TIME among others in the frame.

Selections (7) Teukgeup Daero (6) Morning Hill (9) Dokki Bulpae (5) Munhak Boss
