Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Competitive maiden with five of the eleven racing for the first time and we'll go with a first timer in (4) PHANTOM DRAGON. He led all the way to comfortably win a trial in a quick time on May 2nd and if he brings that form to the races, he will be hard to hold out here. (2) YEONGUNG JARYONG was similarly impressive in a trial at the end of April, racing handy and running 2nd behind a class 2 horse. He too draws well, and Moon Se-young's booking will attract plenty. (1) GRAND LARGE came through two trials, improving in the second of them in early April and he too can go well first-up here. As for those with experience, (11) CUPID MIR looks the best with a one 3rd and four 4th place finishes to his name. (5) WONDERFUL LORD may improve on a nondescript debut.

Selections (4) Phantom Dragon (2) Yeongung Jaryong (1) Grand Large (11) Cupid Mir

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden. (4) EAST RISING was a much-improved 2nd at start number two over 1200M on April 14th, racing handy throughout and only narrowly missing out. She draws well to be on pace again and she can go one better here. (7) AMAZING ROCK similarly improved on her second start, when 4th over 1400M on April 28th. In this company she too can be expected to be on the pace from the start and she should be in this a long way. (6) CHOGANGBULPAE has a 2nd place on her resume from two starts back over this distance. She then got a bit far back before running on for 4th place at her latest effort on April 21st. She should be in this. (10) WONDERFUL WELLS and (9) YONGBI QUEEN are the other placing chances.

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Since landing his maiden win in January, (8) ROYAL BEST has two 4th places and a close 2nd in three attempts at this class. That 2nd was last time out on April 21st when he led close to home and with CC aboard again, he can go one better. The main danger is (11) JECHUK IHO. He is yet to win but has finished no worse than 4th in six starts. Most recently, he was 3rd in that April 21st race, just half a length behind Royal Best. That was his first outing since last November so he should strip fitter for the run and the wide draw shouldn't be a problem. Another non-winner with plenty of near misses is (7) SSEULMO. An on-pace type, he comes in off a 2nd place finish at this class and distance on April 13th when he led for much of the way, and he should be in the finish again here. (9) SAENAE VIVA and (3) ARCH CLASS among others in the minor money hunt.

Selections (8) Royal Best (11) Jechuk Iho (7) Sseulmo (9) Saenae Viva

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only here. (11) APPLE QUEEN got her maiden win over 1200M on April 14th leading every step of the way. She comes up in class here, and she has the challenge of the widest gate, but with only three starts to her name there is plenty of scope for more development and this looks a winnable assignment again. (5) GOLDBERG comes in having beaten a couple of today's rivals on her way to 4th place at this class over 1200M on April 13th. She can settle behind the speed and should be challenging late on. (7) GANGCHEOL YEOGEOL is winless, but she finishes off her races well and she can be beating the 5th place she secured last time out on what was her first try at this class. (4) MY THUNDER and (10) GREEN VIVACE are others who can enter the placing calculations.

Selections (11) Apple Queen (5) Goldberg (7) Gangcheol Yeogeol (4) My Thunder

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(8) GIANT M got his maiden win at 1400M in March and stepped up to this distance for the first time on April 28th, running a solid 2nd, albeit as favourite, and leading for much of the way. The time was significantly quicker than any of the others here have achieved for the distance, and he is the one to beat here.  (7) ACRO MARINE has eight top-five finishes among nine starts so far with his most recent being a 4th place over 1400M on April 20th. His running style suggests the step up to two turns can suit, and he can be a danger here. (1) DRAGON SQUARE is yet to win but comes up in class following a runner-up finish over this distance on April 27th when coming from off the pace. He comes down in the weights, he draws well, and he can measure up at this level. (2) SUMMER PARTY and the up in class (4) THUNDER GALLOPER are others in the frame.

Selections (8) Giant M (7) Acro Marine (1) Dragon Square (2) Summer Party

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(1) CHEONGPAUI KKUM is a winner of two of his latest three, most recently at this class and distance on April 20th when he settled midfield and ran on strongly to win in a good time with a couple of today's rivals behind him. He comes up 4kg in the weights, but that's balanced a little by a good draw, and he will be favoured to win again. (2) NINE EAGLE ran 2nd in that that April 20th race, settling handy and just going down by half a length. He too carries his fair share of weight but should be in the mix again. (3) PUNGUNJIMA has two wins from five starts and placed at this class over 1400M last time out. He races for the first time since February and while he didn't offer many clues in an April trial, Moon Se-young, who has won on him, is engaged and a bold first-up showing looks probable. (9) GEOLJAK DREAM and (7) RAON CITY GIRL are others to consider.

Seoul Race 7: Class 2 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

At one stage it seemed (7) VINCERO CAVALLO would be on the Triple Crown trail, but it seems to have been decided that one-turn racing is for him at this stage. And he has down well at it, coming in here off back-to-back wins at 1400M and 1200M, the latter in a valuable Trophy race a month ago over decent opposition. He comes in under a light weight and it will be a surprise if he doesn't complete his hat-trick here. (3) BEST CHEONSANG has a remarkable twenty top-three finishes (admittedly thirteen of them in 3rd place) and enters off a 3rd (what else?) over this distance in an eye-catchingly quick race on April 20th. She is well drawn here and can be in the mix again. (4) MAUIWAY is a winner of three of his last four with a fast score at this distance last time out. He is up in class but down in weight and can be competitive. (6) RAON THE GOLD and (9) SUPER FINISH others to consider.

Selections (7) Vincero Cavallo (3) Best Cheonsang (4) Mauiway (6) Raon The Gold

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) OKCHEON SNIPER was a winner over 1400M two starts back before running 2nd over the same distance on his first try at this class on February 24th, both times having led. He races for the first time in twelve weeks but shapes as the one to beat here. (5) CHANGJOUI ACHIM has shown promise across three starts so far, improving at each. He is nicely weighted and while he has got a bit far back in his races, he can continue to make progress here. (1) BROWN QUEEN has outperformed expectations in both her latest two starts at 1300M and 1200M. She draws very nicely here and carries just a feather weight which can put her in contention. (8) PURGE DAY and (4) SUPER ECTON are others to consider for the places.

Selections (6) Okcheon Sniper (5) Changjoui Achim (1) Brown Queen (8) Purge Day

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(8) BADEN BADEN enters having won at this class over a mile on April 6th when leading all the way. She is a winner at this distance too and while she comes up a full 5kg in the weights, don't rule out a repeat. (7) HEART K is up in class following three near misses at class 5 level, all at this distance. By contrast, he comes down by a full 5kg and he should be competitive in this company. (11) MIRAE TOWER led for much of the way around over 1300M at this class on April 14th before finishing 2nd. He has the challenge of the widest gate here but should have enough about him to get forward again and can be a danger. (3) MAGLE DAY and (1) BEST JEONSA are other placing chances.

Selections (8) Baden Baden (7) Heart K (11) Mirae Tower (3) Magle Day

Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(2) WORLD BLAME has a 2nd and two 3rd place finishes in three starts so far. He was slow away in the first couple of those but got away on terms last time and ran well at 1400M. He comes into a better gate today and he has every chance. (4) ACE GUNJU enters having won at this class over 1200M on April 13th, coming from off the pace to score handsomely. He comes up 3kg in the weights, but he comes into a better gate and a repeat isn't impossible. (6) FAIR SKIES was sent off as favourite in that April 13th race and ran a decent enough 2nd having raced handy throughout. He carries his fair share of weight again, but he should be in the mix once more. (8) TAEKHAN and (2) ZIRCON should be in the minor money frame.

Selections (2) World Blame (4) Ace Gunju (6) Fair Skies (8) Taekhan
Next Best 2, 9

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(11) JEONGSANG ACE will be a warm favourite. His win came at 1200M, but he performed well when stepped up to this trip on March 16th and running 2nd at this level. He comes up 2.5kg in the weights, but Moon Se-young stays up and the wide draw shouldn't be a problem.  (8) GOOD HAPPY come sin having run 4th over a mile on April 20th. He has a good finish on him and should be ready for another crack at two-turns. That will mean overturning the form on (9) TIZ INDY, who ran 3rd in that April 20th race. She can mix her form, but she has placed at this class and distance and shouldn't be dismissed. (10) ROCK IMPACT and (5) GLOBAL MAGIC are others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (11) Jeongsang Ace (8) Good Happy (9) Tiz Indy (10) Rock Impact
