This was on Sunday over the 2000m course and the Wattel pupil looked a much happier horse.  Iresine put in a good run for second and the third spot went to Kertez, with the short-priced favourite Al Hakeem restricted to fourth.

The 3yos went round in the Prix de la Force for the boys and the Prix Vanteaux for the girls.  The former went to Big Rock, a son of Rock of Gibraltar, trained by C. Head and ridden by Lemaitre with our pick Padishakh second – he had firmed into favourite by the time of the start – and Irish raider Greenland third for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore.  The girls race went to Jannah Rose, a daughter of Frankel, trained by Carlos Laffon-Parias and ridden by Christophe Soumillon.  Sea The Lady, by Sea The Moon was second on 4/1 and third our pick Around Midnight who started favourite.
