The two G2s were quite straightforward for Purton even if Lucky Sweyness wasn't paying due attention to the start and had to come round the field but Purton knows the horse well and what he can do rode with confidence.

Lucky Sweynesse has been an obliging horse right through his career and now will be asked to do the Champions Sprint and then possibly step up to the mile and go to the Yasuda Kinen in Japan.  Wellington was gallant in defeat but has just met a better horse on the day.

California Spangle was back to his best and was racing without Golden Sixty although the pair will now clash in the Champions' Mile.  He had to dig a bit deep to win as Money Catcher was definitely after his money!  Beauty Joy was third.
