The undercard has 5 Gr2s and 2 Gr1s.

Starting off with the Derby City Distaff Gr 2 over 1400m with 6 runners and the favourite unsurprisingly the lovely Goodnight Olive on 4/5 for Brown- I Ortiz.  Next best is Wicked Halo 3/1 for Asmussen-Gaffalione.

The Churchill Distaff Turf Mile has 8 starters with Spenderella 7/5 for Motion-Gaffalione.  Speak of the Devil is 7/2 for Brown-Prat and Haughty 4/1 Brown-J L Ortiz in a pretty open race.

The Gr 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint is another open race with Big Invasion on 7/2 for Clement-Rosario, Arrest The Red on 4/1 for Ward-I Ortiz and Nothing Better 5/1 for Duarte-Franco.

The Gr 2 Pat Day Mile has 14 runners with the Asmussen-Geroux Echo Again on 7.2,  General Jim is 4/1 for McCaughey-Saez and 9/2 for Fort Bragg Yakateen-Rosario.

The American Turf is Gr 2 over 1700m turf for 3yos and has 14 runners.  Major Dude, by Bolt d'Oro is on 5/2 for Pletcher-I Ortiz, Carl Spackler is by Lope de Vega and is on 3/1 for Brown-J L Ortiz and Fair Bridge by English Channel is on 7/2 for Pletcher-Rosario.

The Churchill Downs Stakes is Gr 1 and here we see the return of the wonderful Cody's Wish and we hope Cody will be there to cheer him on.  We had White Aborrio next but he's scratched as a Joseph runner so Tejano Trust goes in on 6/1.

The Old Bourbon Turf Classic is over 1800m with a field of 10 led by our old friend Hong Kong Harry on 7/2 so hope he has been inspired by his mates in Hong Kong's results from last Sunday.  Up To The Mark is on 4/1. Santin 9/2. We were going to put in the Chilean-bred Master Piece but he will be scratched coming from the Joseph yard.

Now to break out the Mint Juleps!!!!!
