Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris at Auteuil Sunday

3 minute read

Well we haven't quite finished with the jumps as this is an exciting race.

Some of the excitement comes in the form of Noble Yeats, whom we have adored because we adored his daddy and he won the Grand National in 2022 and was 4th this year so he has the stamina to tackle this course.  He's trained by Emmet Mullins and Sean Bowen will ride and they are in the UK on 4/1, with Gex being on 7/2 – he was second in this last year.

Local hero Carriacou fretted so much in the paddock that his trainer brought him back to the stables and the happy horse has thrived ever since.  He's an 11 yo and gets weight from Noble Yeats.

Emmet Mullins's uncle Willie has tried four times to win this race and when Franco de Port ran third here last year he decided to aim the horse for a return attempt.  He's on 9/1 with Paul Townend in the irons, and his stablemate Carefully Selected on 14/1.

The race is over 6000m and has an assortment of jumps ranging from tricky to very very tricky and should be a grand spectacle.
