It's the Grande Premio Brasil G1 over 2400m at the picturesque Gavea track in Rio.

And one very familiar name leaps out on the card and that is Joao Moreira, who has been getting lots of winners since returning to his home country.  This is a "win and you're in" race for the American Breeders' Cup Turf so has attracted a field of 18 runners. 

Trainer Luis Esteves will saddle possibly 5 runners although his mare may go to a girl's race.

Included in these is Raptor's, Moreira's mount.

Nao da Mas won the Pellegrini in 2019 which makes him a bit of a senior citizen but he's in good form having been narrowly beaten in the GP Sao Paolo.

And Jorge Ricardo who has ridden a huge number of winners will be on Jet Class.
