And more Dettori wins – he's now passed 80!
Fortunately for us he was on our tip Porta Fortuna in the G3 Albany Stakes and got a good win over Matrika 9/1 and Soprano third. With exotic colours and American owners it looks like the winner will head to the Breeders' Cup.
The Commonwealth Cup was a bit of an upset as despite blowing the start Shaquille was on his best behaviour and carved out a win ahead of the evens fav Little Big Bear. Swingalong was third at 66/1 and another good result for the Burke-Lee roughies. The winner was a first G1 for trainer Julie Comacho and was ridden by Oisin Murphy.
The Coronation Stakes went according to the form with another win for the lovely Tahiyra who got a nice ride from Chris Hayes. There was an enquiry after with the second home Remarquee 15/1 but in the end the result stood. Sounds of Heaven got the third prize and Meditate was disappointing in fourth – looked to have every chance but ran out of gas.
King Steel and Continuous gave us a nice quinella in the King Edward VII but there were only 6 runners so it wasn't rocket science.
