The weather was sunny, the punters lost money.

One could write a song about it all.  On the stats side of things there were 25 different trainers who won, Ryan Moore rode 6 winners to get top jock again and Aidan O'Brien got champion trainer.

Saturday's races continued with the upsets.  The Jersey Stakes went to Age of Kings, Aidan O'Brien's second stringer with Wayne Lordan riding on 22/1, from Zoology 22/1 and Streets of Gold 28/1.  Most of the more fancied horses are still running.

And what a blow out in the Jubilee when Khaadem came out of nowhere to win with Jamie Spencer on board and 80/1 the price – he had a great finish and had to fight Sacred 9/1 every inch of the way with Highfield Princess third.  Artorius was not disgraced in fourth and has now been retired.  The Astrologist likewise ran a huge race for fifth – was even leading at one stage.  Not sure what their plans are for him but he could pick up a decent race while on this side of the world.

And the Hardwick went to Pyledriver who just keeps turning up – this time starting at 7/2 to add the win to his already excellent CV.  West Wind Blows 13/2 was second and Changingoftheguard third on 7/1.

For the record our tips in the Wokingham are still running.  The winner was Saint Lawrence followed by Apollo One, Juan Les Pins and Mum's Tipple.

Nick Smith and the Ascot guys were all happy with proceedings.  Turnovers were up and crowds came including the King who won a race too!
