Fantastic Moon won the 154th German Derby at Hamburg Horn on Sunday.

Starting as second favourite and ridden by Steiberg's partner Rene Piecheluk, the son of Sea The Moon had no serious problems in winning from Mr Hollywood by 2 ½ lengths with the third money going to Weracruz 60/1 Schiergen-Antonio Orani who was another 2 ½ lengths back.

Something seems to have gone wrong with the favourite Straight who was eased back in the race and finished at the wrong end of the field of 20 runners.
