This did enable Vis Sistina to run but not fast enough.

She was outrun in the Falmouth by a dashing Nashwan under Hollie Doyle and also by Remarquee who was the second.

Earlier the Duchess of Cambridge's Stakes provided a great birthday present for Kia Joorabchian, the head of AMO racing who own the Calyx filly Persian Dreamer and she also gave jockey Kevin Stott a leg of his 4-timer.  Favourite Star of Mystery was second.

Saturday's going is good to soft with more showers expected.  The Superlative Stakes G2 for the 2yos over 1400m and has 10 participants.  The top two in the market both ran impressive debut wins – City of Troy won by 2 ½ lengths and Great Truth by 5 ½.  City of Troy is by Justify and runs for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore currently on 10/11.  Great Truth, by Dubawi and with the Appleby arm of Godolphin with Will Buick riding, is on 3/1.  While these two look very talented this is only their second starts and we often look to something with a bit of experience.  Richard Hannan's Haaten fills that criteria and is on 10/1 with Sean Levy riding.

The July Cup G1 is over 1200m and 9 will run.  Godolphin's Kinross is on top here on 11/4 for Appleby-Buick but that is largely based on last season's form.  We like the chances of the two on 3/1 – Azure Blue going for his 5th consecutive win and Shaquille for his 6th.  Azure Blue has Paul Mulrennen riding for Michael Dodds and Shaquille has Rossa Ryan riding for Julia Camacho.
