He relished the going and under Jim Crowley's guidance fought out a tough duel with Westover the provide a thrilling finish to a great race.

King of Steel ran on to get the third but the mystery in all this is what happened to Auguste Rodin?  Ryan Moore says that "he lost his power" and from about the 400m it was clear that he was not going anywhere.  Aidan O'Brien said that after the race there was no obvious answer and they would watch him for the next few days to see if they can find an answer.

Earlier in the afternoon Sacred Angel 16/1 won the Princess Margaret for Charlie Johnston and Jason Hart, with the daughter of Dark Angel defeating favourite Pretty Crystal with Symbology third.  Soprano was a non-runner.

The Valient was a good win for Random Harvest and jockey Saffie Osbourne with Roman Mist 17/2 second and Thornbrook 7/1 third and Random Harvest has now eared a spot in our little black book.
