Zarak the very brave in Galway Hurdle

3 minute read

Zarak The Brave may only be a 4yo but he's racing like a horse with 10 years experience.

Jesse Evans may have been in front nearing the finish but Paul Townend gave Zarak a little tap and he responded and won by a head.

My Mate Mozzie was third and Icare Allen fourth.

Earlier the Fillies Stakes (for f&m) saw Miramis win for Joseph O'Brien and Dylan McMonagle with the Dermot Weld trained Keep in Touch second and Dandy Alys third.

On Friday the feature will be the Galway Guiness Handicap, which is a premier handicap with the maximum field of 18 runners and 3 reserves for the 2400m trip.  There's usually some in here that have had a race earlier in the week and that is the case this year with Teed Up who won on Monday over a longer trip so should enjoy this – on 9/2.  Favourite at present is Jackfinbar 7/2 and Zoffman 7/1.  We like another who ran on Wednesday at a longer trip En Or but he's a reserve still at this stage - on 14/1 if he gets a run.
