Brazil wins Galway Guiness Handicap

3 minute read

Having been pulled up in the Galway Hurdle Thursday Brazil came through on the flat on Friday.

He defeated the favourite Teed Up (who had won earlier in the week) with third going to Chally Chute 13/2 and Jackfinbar fourth.  En Or didn't make it into the field.

There is going to be a cautionary inspection Saturday morning as heavy rain is forecast overnight.

Should things be OK the Listed Handicap Hurdle is the feature with 20 runners.  Good luck to the caller if the colours get muddy!  Last year's winner Hollowed Star is back and on top on 11/2 – he will like the track after the rain.  Power of Pause is 8/1 for Mullins-Townend so watch the betting very carefully here.  Thecompanysergeant is on 13/2 and Icare Allen, who was fourth in the Guiness Galway Handicap is back for another run with Mullins putting up apprentice Adrian Kelly.

It's an earlier start too so those of us in the Antipodes should be able to catch most of the races.
