Del Mar has the better of the weather lately as Saratoga gets soggy.

And Del Mar will host the Clement L Hirsch Gr 1 for f&m over 1700m with 6 runner.  The Baffert pair of Adara Manor 4/5 and Fun To Dream 9/5 seem to be the go here.

Friday's meeting at Saratoga was suspended straight after the running of the Saratoga Oaks (which was won by Elusive Pride in her first US start).  Saturday they are hoping for better conditions as it's a big day with 3 Grade 1s starting off with the Test, for 3yo fillies over 1400m and a field of 8.  Pretty Mischievous is a nice filly by Into Mischief and seems very well behaved – Walsh and Gaffalione supporting her.  Maple Leaf Mai is a Munnings filly with M. Giddings and Joel Rosario riding – they are on 2/1.  Munnya Gold is by Cross Traffic and is a Pletcher- I Ortiz runner.

The Saratoga Derby Invitational is also on turf and has 9 3yos lining up.  Far Bridge is by English Channel and with Pletcher and this time the jockey is the other Ortiz brother – Jose Luis, and they are on 2/1.  Program Trader is by Lope de Vega for Chad Brown and Flavian Prat on 7/2, and Wabalinger by Constitution 4/1 for Casse-Castellano.  There are two raiders here – Lion of War by Roaring Lion who is with Charlie Johnston and Oisin Murphy coming over to ride – they are on 8/1, and The Franchise, a Siyouni colt with Joseph O'Brien who had Luis Saez riding and they are on 30/1.

The Whitney is an excellent edition with 6 very good horses competing over the 1800m.

Cody's Wish and his association with Cody Dorman has become the stuff of legends.  We don't know if the human Cody will be there but the horse is a very good horse indeed and will be going for his 7th consecutive win.  Junior Alvarado rides for William Mott.  Zandon is 11/2 for Chad Brown and John Velazquez.
